The only thing that we liked here was the Sherry wines. The food was nothing special. We have been staying in Spain for several months and we have experienced Spanish tapas in various establishments and various cities, also we have received tips from our Spanish friends about food, so we have made an opinion about what to order and how the food should taste. We ordered a tapa of papas aliñá, a half portion of cheese, a half portion of papas bravas and a tapa of beef stew. The prices are quite high: 7€ for the half portion of papas bravas that we're actually frozen wedges on which some ketchup and mayo was added, 6€ for a few slices of cheese. We noticed that the cook put the beef stew in the microwave. We asked about it and she told us that the food is already cooked and she only reheats it in the microwave. We kindly told her that we don't want microwaved food. She got upset and said she will see if she can heat it in something else. A few moments later when she brought the papas bravas, we informed her that we don't want the beef stew anymore to which she replied OK. After we finished eating and we asked to pay, she then quickly brought the tapa of beef stew at the table saying that she already heated it in a saucepan and that we didn't communicate clearly that we don't want it. Upon our clarification again, she got very upset and started throwing pans in the kitchen. Very bad experience. The establishment should try to treat their clients regardless if they're foreigners or not with a bit more professionalism. If someone asks kindly to not heat the food in the microwave, that person does it for health reasons, not because he is picky. Our review only describes what happened from our point of view. I hope the owner will try to rephrain in his reply from using insulting words and will treat this review in a professional manner and with respect.
Read moreCame here because Abacería Cruz Vieja nearby was full. The tapas were excellent, though the ordering process (order and pick up at the bar) was hectic with so many people packed in. Everything we ordered (marinated carrots, tortilla, croquetas, ensaladilla, carillá) was delicious, though not considered the cheapest by locals. We asked for chicharrones but they honestly told us that they weren't very good that day. Aside from the full array of sherries, they have mosto during mosto season. Atmosphere was very lively with the Christmas zambomba going on. The only annoying thing was people smoking outside and all the cigarette fumes blowing in through the open door throughout...
Read moreWe were tipped to try this place, so we popped in on our first day here. Typical tapas bar which specialises in flamenco evenings and events, although none on the day we were there. We don't speak much Spanish and the poor girl spoke no English, so we had to use translation app to decide on what to order. All perfectly fine but nothing outstanding we thought. With 2 glasses of wine and enough to eat between us, about 25 to 30 euro all in, so won't break the bank. Flamenco music quite loud on a loop all evening, which did get a bit wearing after a...
