Even though this place is not run by Koreans and probably some people feel the foods are not authentically Korean, I would not complain much. Food, like other elements of a country's culture, changes and some people prefer locally modified varieties. When I passed by the restaurant and when I had bibimbap there, I noticed that it was full of diners. If they are happy, they are happy! It is all that matters. There is no need to make unpleasant remarks about the restaurant and its management. I had translated Korean cuisune into English over nealy two decades and as I am living abroad, I have noticed that it is becoming more and more common for cuisines and the catering industry to cross over traditional boundaries of different countries. I like the name and the beautiful wall deco of this restaurant. And I appreciate the restaurant owner and staff for providing well-known Korean dishes to Madrid citizens and...
Read moreWorst Bibimbap I've ever had. I've had it many times. Have even been to Korea. This is a restaurant run by Chinese folks and idk if they eat Korean food very much but that isn't it. All the ingredients with zero flavor. Lady didn't even add the gochujang sauce till I asked for it. Still just a lot of spice and not a lot of flavor. Then asked for the only thing I could think they had that would go with it and asked for sesame oil and she seemed confused why I wanted that lolol (oh well) but that finally gave some flavor because it really needed just anything lol. Also hade to scoop it out of the stone pot bowl because it smelled so bad eating directly from the bowl,, not the food,, the bowl smelled like everything inside was burning even though it wasn't, which was so gross, even when it cooled it still smelled real bad. Food was not burnt.. so weird.. I would not...
Read moreThis was my very first experience with a Korean grill. It was a suggestion by my son who lives in Madrid and tried several places with a similar concept. Meat, fish, crustacea is brought to you with the cadence of three meals per person. Since this is an all-you-can-eat deal, you have a choice of over 60 different foods & ingredients which are served in front of you. Raw food you are supposed to put on a grill which is in the middle of a table. The staff changes the bottom of the grill after every round of 6 meals so the bottom of the grill does not get covered with the black charcoal. We enjoyed every single bite of eat. An exquisite choice of wild offerings that you may have never experienced. No spoilers! ;-) One of my unforgettable experiences during my one month stay in...
