El Botánico Restaurante Terraza — Restaurant in Madrid

should absolutely avoid this place as a tourist/foreigner. staff forgot to write down the full order so i had to wait extra for my dish (which wasnt even properly cooked when i received it). waited way too much for very underwhelming food considering the prices. had to watch locals receive their food and drinks and desert all while waiting to receive the very simple burgers, fries and pasta we ordered. the prices on the menu did not match the prices on the bill. first, drinks are not mentioned on the menu so we had no way of knowing how much they cost, then they overcharged for beer on the bill for no reason and corrected it only after we noticed(5 euros for a beer!!!!) not to mention that we had to pay a “terrace tax” of 1,5 euros for sitting outside which would have been understandable had it not been applied to EVERY DISH we ordered. also cutlery was not provided on the table, neither were condiments or even napkins. the bathroom was clean and...

When my guest and I arrived at the restaurant, we were told we could use the QR code on the window to access the digital menu for the restaurant because they were not using paper menus due to covid. We enjoyed that, looked at the menu, and ordered.

When we got the bill, the prices were completely different than the digital menu we were using. We were charged 3x the prices from the digital menu. Apparently, the prices on the digital menu were incorrect. The restaurant would not fix the pricing error. So, instead of paying an anticipated €25-30, we were forced to pay €87.

I understand the restaurant prices are expensive, but inviting us to use the QR scan for a digital menu with incorrect prices is unacceptable. I have attached the prices from the digital menu vs the actual cost. It’s quite a big difference. I’m quite disappointed the restaurant made us pay a price when we clearly were given the wrong...

We had a very bad experience with them! They brought the food, but never any sylverware, napkins, salt...anything! We sat there for 10 minutes just staring at the food and nobody cared. Attempts to tell the waitress failed, my wife went to her and while talking to her she just turned arround and left like I don't care..another interesting thing is 10Euro for stuff we didn't order, so, we put our order and after a while she brings us bread(which most restaurants do on the house which is normal) and with my beer they just brought some olives(we didn't order but thought this is how they do, they bring olives to every beer customer orders)...so, we ended up paying 10 Euro for these extras: bread and olives, you cannot charge customers for stuff they didn't order, this looks like a scam to me plus bad service, please avoid this place, there are many other...
