Ok place.. baked eggs good.. toast topped with serrano ham good. Nothing special in the worldly sense..I guess above average in Madrid as pretty much no one serves eggs in the morning except this place. Very limited choices and somewhat amateur service. Very expensive for what it is.
EDIT AND RESPONSE TO OWNER: Amateur is owner of restaurant sarcastically arguing a review on Google maps as opposed to INTROSPECTION and self improvement. You have overall good ratings. Probably from Europeans but take my review from a constructive perspective. From someone that travels a lot. Everyone needs continuous improvement. Do you want to be good or do you want to be GREAT? Let me expand on my previous points and I hope you are reading the original ENGLISH review and NOT the Google translation.
MADRID BREAKFAST SCENE: (As you call it) Everyone knows Madrid’s old town is not big on breakfast. Madrid is GREAT for other meals, but breakfast choices are limited beyond coffee, churros, chocolate and pastries. I Love churros and chocolate etc dont get me wrong but Big full service breakfast meal options are limited in Madrid. Sometimes you want a huge Continental style breakfast.. Plenti has a GREAT niche and is one of a few restaurants in Madrid that offer hearty and savory egg and breakfast meals. Madrid is an international city and should offer a variety of choices. Plenti serves to offer this option and is different than your traditional Madrid breakfast restaurant. That's good.
AMATEUR SERVICE: Yes. Waiter not on top of game. Place is small and table should never be left alone for a long time. We found this to be the case. I always say you don't want a waiter continuously checking on you but you also don't want him disappearing. AND when you first arrive, you should be immediately given menus and offered drinks. That did not happen. Only after several minutes. This practice has to be AUTOMATIC. You sit..you are handed menus..you are offered drinks. Boom. That's it. There's no other way that's acceptable. If place is busy.. you get some leeway but place is small and there were few customers when I was there. Maybe owner should add another waiter.
LIMITED CHOICES: Yes. Although your baked eggs are good, you don't offer eggs any other way. We asked for a simple fried egg because of dietary restrictions. We were told NO. Only baked eggs = LIMITED MENU. OK..No problem..we ordered the baked eggs..very good. But still..limited breakfast choices. No need to argue. Fact is a fact. Sometimes limited is good. However prospective customers looking at Google Maps may want to know about choices in a review.
PRICES: Approx 16 Euros = $18 US Dollars (including 20% tip) For a Tosta, a baked egg and cafe con leche. (Yes. We tip good no matter what the service. Tipping is not an option.. you should always tip) I don't know.. 16 Euros: you think it's cheap? I'll leave it up to you to decide.
ONE MORE THING: This is associated with AMATEUR SERVICE and the owner is responsible. Sir, you have garbage in front of the store. An empty liquor bottle and a bunch of garbage in front of your front door. Why don't you just get a broom and SWEEP IT UP? Don't wait for the government to pick it up. This does not look good for a customer walking into your store. That's a SERVICE issue. Store should be clean. Inside and out. Even if it's after New Years eve. That's the owners responsibility. As a Google Local Guide I tried to give my personal opinion based on my experience at Plenti. No need to respond.. just accept the constructive criticism which I believe is fair and had many positive things to say about Plenti. I planned on checking it out again but the owners sarcastic response to my review doesn't seem very inviting for any future visit. Hopefully they get thicker skin and use reviews as a way to self improve and self analyze rather than be so sensitive about it. I truly wish Plenti the best of luck and...
Read moreThis cafe is a gift from the heavens. The staff is extremely kind and always timely on getting you seated, taking your order, and delivering your food. They take time to remember you and always greet you with a smile. You can tell they throw their hearts into the work they do. The ambiance radiates chill lofi. Its like a spot of sunshine through the clouds after a rain. The shakshuka and baked sweet potatoes are like a warm blanket curled up by a fire. It is the most comforting food in the world. Their cafe con leches are basically a cup of hugs. The feta cucumber tomato sandwich paired with the cucumber mint spinach juice feels like summer sitting by a pool. It's delicious and a meal made from sunshine. You can't go wrong ordering anything from their menu because they have perfected every piece with...
Read moreIt has been almost 2 full years since i’ve been here and I completely forgot how wonderful this cafe is.
I used to come daily as I was attending classes nearby and it was always so cute, friendly and warm.
I always avoided Plenti on the weekends as there is usually a wait line but we got lucky. This weekend I went back for brunch and I was super content about our visit.
The coffee is excellent, food is delicious and the price is super affordable (especially given this neighbourhood and the food you receive).
I paid around 9€ for shakshuka and a coffee. Delicious, good serving and well priced.
We all enjoyed our food.
Water is self service and there is an outdoor terrace if you can find a spot.
Food came out quite fast.
I love Plenti, and will always try to get in if it isn’t...
