En Paella — Restaurant in Madrid

The first and only place we had paella.

We didn’t bother trying other places after because the paella here was so good that we were afraid we’d be disappointed with the paella in other restaurants. 😅 we ordered the owner’s recommendations: the gambas, paella negro and solomillo— they did not disappoint!

Jaime (the owner) was also very friendly and made sure we were comfortable.

The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered paella - Solomillo and paella - jamón y gambas. I scraped both it was so good. Our server was outstanding too. She was very attentive and helpful. If you don’t try this place you’ll be missing out on a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a delicious and affordable meal. We flew in from Miami to have dinner here....

Para empezar, los arroces no son paellas. Yo las hago muchísimo más ricas y con más "bicho". Nos pedimos un arroz con carabineros para dos, y, literalmente, había 2 carabineros. Si querías más, tenías que pagarlo aparte. INCREIBLE. Jamás había visto algo así. El arroz "con carabineros" estaba seco, no sabía a nada, no tenía nada, más que esos dos tristes carabineros hechos aparte, y puestos en la parte de arriba del arroz. Muy CUTRE y muy triste. Nos pedimos de primero tapas par compartir, y no he visto tapas más pequeñas y más mal hechas en la vida. NO OS PIDÁIS LOS CALAMARES EN SU TINTA CON CEBOLLA CARAMELIZADA. Están horrorosos. Por otra parte, los arroces son muy raros: con solomillo, con merluza... cosas rarísimas que no se ven ni en el extranjero. Todos secos, malos e infumables. Fuimos varias personas y todas salimos escaldadas. Teníamos el descuento del 50% sobre la carta, y nos salió a 20€ por persona. ¡¡Menos mal que teníamos el descuento!! ¡¡Calculad cuánto nos habría costado sin él!!
