Okay..first of all I tried to book for 11 people but Google didn’t allow me because the maximum amount they allow is 9 people. So what I did was I created two separate bookings: 9 people at 18.30 and 2 people at 19.00.
Anyways we came there excited because it was a special day for us. At the entrance below, a staff from the bar (who looked and acted more like a THUG) asked whether we have a reservation. I told him I have two bookings under my name. And he said flatly, “for bookings over than 9 people, there’s a minimum charge of €35 per person.” I didn’t know this. It wasn’t written on their website as well. I told him that I didn’t know about this and I didn’t get notified at all via email nor phone call, but he kept saying the same thing rudely - no smile, looking at me condescendingly as if saying “either you pay 35 pp or you’re out”.
I talked my way through and went to the rooftop. There we were greeted by a maitre’d, friendlier. I complained about the minimum charge and how it’s not written nowhere at all, and she was willing to talk to the manager about it. We ended up having to pay a min. €25 per person thanks to her.
The ambience was nice. The view was nice. But…everything else was just so-so. The beverages were mostly sweet. The snacks were ok (we recommend the croquetas de queso, that’s the better part of the menu). Service was slow. Really slow.
We were seated at the very corner which was nice cause we had it exclusively to ourselves, but it came with a major downside. Because we were being ignored like 80% of the time. We had to literally WALK and APPROACH the waitresses a few times to order. How embarrassing. They didn’t feel sorry whatsoever that we had to make the effort to come to them to order. Zero attitude and terribly indifference to customers. We were all Asians in the group and we noted that the waitresses’ attitude were far better towards other clients who were Westerners.
Not gonna recommend this place to anyone ever. There are far better places worth your...
Read moreOf all the places we went in our two weeks in Spain & Portugal, this was by far the worst & the only place I would NEVER return to. They open at 5 but won’t serve food until 7, would be nice if they said that online, but even that we were okay with because we were planning on having a few drinks anyways, only problem was it was an hour & forty-five minutes after taking our initial order that we were able to order again. The staff does not check on you, we had to flag them down every time & then they acted like you were an inconvenience & should not be asking for anything! It was as if the staff prided themselves on poor customer service. The only redeeming quality this place has is their food is actually pretty good, but cocktails & wine are wildly overpriced for what they are. For a rooftop bar the views are subpar at best. We were really looking forward to this place, it was a big factor in deciding to book our stay at the INNSIDE by Melia Gran Via. Please don’t waste your time, there are much better places in the vicinity. Management, please teach your staff...
Read moreDo not go unless you speak Spanish. My fiancé and I came here for some drinks and food. Straight off the bat the waitress was rude to us despite understanding English. Proceeded to be very short with us and told us we couldn’t order food because the kitchen was closed and would open again in 30 minutes all the while being rude. This seemed strange as it was already 10pm and online said kitchen closes at 11:30pm. We waited patiently and watched many people receive their food (some that had arrived at the same time as us) and after confirming the kitchen was open with another waiter, asked to order again. We were told it was closed again and decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The location is good and nice decor etc. but we were made to feel very uncomfortable, unwelcome and honestly just treated really badly. Have not ever experienced treatment like this. How much can be chalked up to miscommunication is hard to say but there was definitely a bad vibe. Would...
