Very nice restaurant for seafood and fish. We tried different wines and they were all very delicious. The starters were the highlight. We had three and loved all of them! The waiter was not so helpful, his english was not the best. He recommended us the most expensive dished and was trying really hard to upsell. Se took the lobster. He said it would be cooked in a very special way typical for the region. When we asked for the price, he actually said something different than was at the bill. At the end the lobster came with some fried chips and three fried eggs. Definitely bot what we were expecting. We wish he explained it better. Also they forgot to being the extra cutlery for the lobster and we had to ask for it. One more note, the prawns were ok, nothing extraordinary, but they cost 60EUR. For a starter a bit too much. Also, he didn’t inform us about the price or the weight upfront. The waiter that was coming after we placed the order with the main waiter was much nicer, his english was very good and he actually did a much better job in general. We spent around 500EUR there so I would’ve expected a better service.

I would give 6 stars to the food. Amazing. The tuna carpaccio came like a piece of art!! Tasted great of three different kinds of tuna parts. The Gambas al ajillo was probably the best version I have had until now. I have ordered this dish I don’t even know how many times whenever I went to a Spanish resto. This was absolutely outstanding because of the freshness of the Malaga white shrimps they used. Their grilled and steamed shrimps from different regions of Spain is also a must try. The only thing I was not too pleased was the terrace location. It is on one of the most charming streets in this rich neighborhood. However the cars and motorcycles zooming by your table just didn’t make the sitting experience so enjoyable. Even w my iphone EarPods noise cancellation on, it was like in a jet engine hanger. The city should close certain neighborhood streets to car traffic. Something to learn from Paris. All said, it was an amazing gastro experience.

It’s a hit or miss. Definitely not something I’d expect from an owner of a Michelin star restaurant, which goes to show how flawed the Michelin star program is. The seafood Paella was a major let down, a depressing display of a national dish. I felt embarrassed for the restaurant, but also ripped off. They have all these wonderful mariscos on display, but did not use any of it for our paella. They asked us at least three times if we wanted it served in the pan or on bowls, and we realized the servers must have been embarrassed to serve it as well. The paella was overly salty rice in a pan with basically a grocery store thawed bag of shrimp and muscles thrown on top. A drunk toddler could make it. I make paella at home all the time and was particularly excited to have paella made in Spain 😂🤦🏼♀️. We ate it out of desperate hunger, but we should have sent it back (I’ve never sent anything back before).

I only will take to this restaurant people that I love. Lobito de Mar is a great experience. The decor and the music are super hip. The sommeliers are super knowledgeable and translate your taste and curiosity very well, recommending great cocktails and wine. I loved that this time they explained a little bit about the origin of some ingredients like the fish, and it is a whole different experience when you know the effort they make to support sustainable local fishing. It's a place where you also can connect with people in your table. The level of noise and the speed of service let you to enjoy the company, the conversation, the experience of connecting with others around a table. I promise myself that every time I go to Madrid, I have to stop by Lobito de Mar. Thanks, team, for a great meal and great memories.

Delicious food and atmosphere but for this price point I’ll be a little stricter: -For two big grilled lobsters which we paid approx 150€ each, they were served cold: not planned cold, rather I left it in the server’s table for much longer than I should’ve cold. It was delicious but you could tell it was cold right after the grill. Kinda reminded me leftover lobster. Bad look for this price. -It was impossible to get the attention of the servers. It’s a general problem in Spain, but for a restaurant of this quality, I expected greater attention. -We had to wait 15 minutes before we could get to our table, although we had a reservation and got there on time. No minus points for that, though, it happens.

It's super expensive, food is OK, but our main dish was too salty to eat. When we told the waiter at the end, he was really disappointed and got a little annoyed, but if you ask me why I didn't eat, expect an answer. He said I should've told them sooner, but it's not like they gave me a discount or would've replaced the dish, so a little weird. It looks nice and it's mainly a place to watch people and be seen I feel. The rest of the service was super nice, but the manager was just a little off putting. Food in Spain is salt in general, but this was next level. If you enjoy a nice decor, this is a nice place. If you think of coming here for the food, I think there are better places around, sorry
