Mesón O'Luar — Restaurant in Madrid

WARNING!! DO NOT GO HERE! I just had the worst lunch ever, first things first they billed us for some kind of other menu than the one on the wall. And the food is some of the most disgusting things I’ve ever eaten. For someone who knows a bit about food and have eaten a good of amount of tapas, I would call myself I valid critique. The jamon croquettes had this weird after taste and were just mushy and nasty. The pulpo wasn’t that good just tasted like the sea and with way too much paprika powder, and 22€!? The tortilla espanol was way too watery and cold, and to top it if they heated it up in the microwave before that. And not even the bravas were good, way too soft and the bravas sauce also hade a weird aftertaste. Hope I don’t get sick, I would not even recommend this place to my worst...

The food at Mesón O’Luar was fantastic! The seafood paella was out of this world absolutely delicious and packed with fresh, flavorful seafood.

The tuna belly salad was also great with fresh tomatoes and fatty tuna belly, love it!

The meat platter was just as impressive, with good-quality cuts that’s not overly salty.The service was okay as they don’t really speak english, but the atmosphere had a welcoming, authentic Spanish charm.

We also ordered a lot of drinks to go with the food. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for great food and a memorable dining experience. Will be back for sure to try the rest of...

We went to O'Luar tonight and ordered grilled octopus, jarmón and garlic grilled shrimps. As an asian, my overall experience was disappointing. Garlic grillied shrimps have decent flavor, no extra comment on that. Jarmón is, very fatty. I understand that it comes with some portion of fat, but the one we were offered has so much of it that we had to pick out most of the fat to eat it. Grilled octopus is not edible at all. Rubbery, slimy and very salty. I could tell that it has been carelessly...
