Terrible food and very slow service.
The view of la Puerta de Alcala is spectacular, so after viewing the menu we decided to sit for what we expected to be great food based on the prices. They gave us a table and ignored us for many minutes. After a long wait, they gave us the menu and we ordered pizza, and shrimp pasta. The shrimp pasta was terrible, the shrimp was literally the ultra tiny cocktail shrimp you can buy at Walmart on the frozen food area, with canned cheap tomato sauce, the worst part was the rotten flavor of the shrimp. We returned both shrimp pastas and exchanged them for a pasta bolognese. The pasta bolognese tasted like cheap canned bolognese pasta. They offered cheese on top, but we never got it. The pizza wasn't as bad, but definitely not a good pizza by any standards.
This is one of those restaurants with a view of a busy tourist attraction, that you end up paying the view, with bad quality food and service. For what we got it is an ripoff tourist trap. I would stay away...
Read moreThe fish was good, the sauce was good and the vegetable was good, but the combination was bland and boring for this price, 34 euros. And the serving was too small for only 1 main dish.
And the waiter made me believe it was rice in the dish because of the name tagliatele. The name referred to the vegetable and not pasta or rice. And my girlfriend received the wrong order, and in longer time than normal. Overall the experience was only great because my girlfriend got a completely new pizza (though way too late) and as compensation we both received 1 extra drink.
Do I recommend eating here? Yes, but only if you are interested in eating at least 2 dishes, pay a lot of money and not expect big servings. The pizza was ok price and bigger serving though if you are hungry.
The waiters were super kind and helpful, but both of them made...
Read moreService was great, food not so much. Wife ordered a burger medium, two bites in she determined it was rare and pretty much rare raw. Sent it back, 2nd burger they plated was medium rare with an emphasis on the rare. Hungry and a bit frustrated she just ate it. I ordered the Pud Thai which supposedly spicy and seasoned with habaneros. What I received was a tasteless bowl of noodles soaked in soy sauce, zero spice. A lot of the food coming out of the kitchen looked pretty good. I'm not seeing Pud Thai on the current menu so perhaps they no longer serve it, which is a good thing. That said, when you pay 23 Euros for a burger and the kitchen misses the mark on their second try, its just plain sad. 3 weeks in Spain and this was our worst...
