We visited this restaurant with a group of 12 people after seeing a nearby magic show at Off Latina. We called the day before to make a reservation. During this call we asked if they would have room for 12 people to sit together AND to confirm that the restaurant closed at 1a (as stated on Google). It is not uncommon for Google to provide incorrect hours or for the kitchen to close early. However, the manager said they would sit 12 together and that indeed, the kitchen and restaurant remained open until 1a. We made the reservation.

Unfortunately, upon entering the restaurant they separated our parties to two separate tables of 6 each. We asked for many variations of putting the tables together, being understanding and respectful that we should not block exits or other customers. However, despite our reservation and previous conversation, the wait staff and manager were extremely rude. They were dismissive and did not comply to our previous agreement. After this, we ordered food, where the wait staff we should order soon because the kitchen closes at 1130p. Again, different than the information provided earlier. We were then kicked out of the restaurant around 1230a. The entire experience was very uncomfortable. To top it all off, there were many flies in the restaurant and near the kitchen. There was a large bag of open garbage next to our table, which was also attracting flies.

I would not recommend this restaurant due to their poor service, lack of transparency and...

Most disgusting restaurant in the world. Este es el restaurante más asqueroso del planeta tierra. The hotel called for us around 6:30pm. They said the were open. No need to reserve a table. We got there and they said they were not open. We walked around for over an hour. At 8pm we came back. They sat us and they did not have a menu. Only a QR code. Come on! We are tourists. We have no internet. So, they gave us access. We ordered. Tortilla española was burned and really salty. The taste was really bad. The croquetas de jamon serrano, burned as well. The sangria was just soda and ice, 15€ for that. Anyways! If you are a tourist, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. IT IS TRULY DISGUSTING. My husband is allergic to shrimp. We asked if shrimp was fried there. They said NO. He is right now sick, sick, sick. What a disgusting experience! I am hoping that his medicine works and we do not have to go to a hospital. If that is the case, more of this story will come up.

Wouldn’t usually leave a review, but decided to share the experience we had at Taberna La Buha La Latina to prevent the same from happening to other customers. We visited for dinner and ordered from the paper menu, which didn’t show any prices. Based on our experiences at similar restaurants in Madrid, we ordered 3 plates to share between 2 people, which we thought would be a suitable amount (patatas bravas, calamari and the mini tortilla). The patatas bravas and calamari arrived and the portions were clearly for 4-6 people - we tried to cancel the order for the mini tortilla yet to arrive, which the waitress initially said was fine, but later told us wouldn’t be possible. The food was ok, but there was far too much (leftover food pictured) and it ended up being a lot more expensive than we’d expected. The waitress never said anything about the huge portion sizes, and we felt like we were being taken advantage of as...

Extraordinarily bad. We ordered two of the tortillas costing €12.50 each. The first with mushrooms and truffles contained 3 measly pieces of mushroom dispersed through the entire 1kg tortilla and no sign of any truffle flavour (see photos attached). The sauce was an insufficient little spoonful and when I asked for more they said it would be an extra 50 cents. The rest of the tortilla was so dry without any flavour, just undercooked potato. The second was onions and goat cheese and the same situation; sparse ingredients with the majority just being dry, dry potatos. Went here after seeing a video recommending this place as the best tortilla in madrid. Don't be fooled by this tourist trap. I feel so cheated and dissapointed beyond belief. We were in a hurry so couldn't complain at the time and reluctantly paid. I wish we hadn't and want a refund for at least one of the tortillas as it was nothing as advertised. Please resolve this.

We got there at noon on a Sunday, which was a bit early for lunch so it wasn’t crowded and we got a table easily without a reservation. With our drinks we were served Montaditos de Jamón Serrano and Manchego cheese. We ordered two Mini tortillas and it was enough for 5 people. The tortillas were juicy and choke full of cheese, they were served with a sauce of Piquillo peppers (absolutely delish!) and another of green bell peppers. The food was very tasty and I would only point that the beer should have been colder, but this is an issue that is very common in Europe. Not sure if when it’s crowded the service starts to fail, but we have no complaints. We will come back.
