Hopper — Restaurant in Madrid

We are staying in Madrid for almost two months. We happened to pop in on Christmas Eve to a delightful band playing & a precious server, Carlotta. She greeted us with a big smile and excellent service like she was happy to see these crazy Americans. She cleaned up our spills, brought us our beer/ wine, fabulous olives & was patient as we demanded full attention:) we had just arrived from the USA & was very excited. We have returned many times to this neighborhood bar and always have a great time surrounded by lovely locals! Then the next server we met was Natalia. She makes us feel like we are old friends welcoming us to her very cool home. She always takes time to talk to us and teaches us about her country and culture. How personable can you get?! She invited our daughter who is living in Madrid to come in anytime so she can practice Spanish with her. Both servers are both so pleasant and work hard as well. It's been a while since I rate a placer with 5stars but I really love this place. It is a place to be. It has personality and the room is organized in "spaces" so you can find the perfect fit for your plan: chatting with a drink, a nice meal, a deep conversation with coffee... In the pics you can taste a bit of the ambience. Talking about the food, I loved it: amazing presentation and better taste. I loved tuna tartar, great marinated and good-quality products. Super bar in a great location in La Latina, the staff are really friendly and make mean cocktail! Felicidad in particular is a fantastic server, she made me an old fashioned as good as any I've had in NYC and also stirred up and incredible Mexican themed cocktail that she recommended. So good I went twice and Felicidad remembered me and made sure I was looked after, excellent venue, excellent staff, Gracias...
