We had a mixed experience here and had quite high expectations given the reviews and prices. The steak we had was fine, but quite chewy and gristly in some parts - quite underwhelming given the price we paid compared to other steaks we have had in the past. The potatoes we ordered had some burned parts and tasted as such. The 'dirty squid' dish was the best dish we had.
Service wise - we were walked through the menu by one of the owners, and we appreciated his thoroughness and this extra touch. However, the same attentiveness and warmth was not present with the other waiters there - they were not rude, but noticeably more distant and perfunctory.
Not a bad meal by any means but in our opinion, not worth the money we paid.
As a note, I can see there are several comments from the owner responding to negative reviews stating that no negative feedback was given during the time of dining, almost as though to question the validity of the review. I understand the owner's perspective but would like to present another: your restaurant is in Palma, a highly touristic city, and as a result, you will get diners from all around the world and from different cultures. There are innate differences in how different cultures communicate - in my culture for example, providing negative face to face feedback is seen as extremely rude and very combative - and something we will not do unless there is something very wrong (eg the meat is spoiled, a dish is missing). It is simply not done if something is a matter of opinion. It is also viewed to put the customer in a very uncomfortable and awkward position. Perhaps this viewpoint can be taken into consideration when considering...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant in search of Galician steak (Rubia Gallega) which hands down was the best food we had during our 5 weeks of travel in July/August. So good in fact that we visited two times in 5 days!
Starting with the service, 10/10. The minute we walked through the door, everyone was friendly and patient, taking time to run through the ever changing menu. We loved that the chef also cared deeply about the food, preparing the items the traditional Galician way and offering to cook the items a little more if needed (eg rare steak for my partner vs medium rare steak for myself). Needless to say, everything was cooked perfectly.
The food itself was unique and very tasty. Coming from Australia, we regularly eat steak and had high expectations that were definitely surpassed. We loved learning that the restaurant showcased Galician cuisine and we haven't stopped speaking about it since! It goes without saying that the steak is a must order - I love that you get to choose the piece you like out of the dry aged fridge. I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything from their blackboard but don't forget to save room for dessert because the pudding is absolutely delish.
We honestly can't wait to visit Mallorca once more and hope to dine here again!
Tip - make a booking! The restaurant is popular with locals and...
Read moreWithout question the best steak I've ever had in Mallorca, and one of the best steaks I've ever had full stop. Amazing service with a wide-range of the best cuts of meat you'll ever come across.
The service was incredible - expect to be talked through your options for which cut you would like, ranging from beef of different ages and different cut quality. You can select whatever piece you'd like and it will be expertly cooked to perfection by the chefs. Everything is cooked over fire, giving the meat a perfect char and a tender, well-seasoned, flavourful center.
The sides were also amazing. Highly recommend the fried potatoes and braised vegetables. The wine selection is also great and they give ideal pairing recommendations.
The cheesecake is an absolute essential for dessert. It has a caramelised finish on top that is almost like a creme brulee, but the flavour is unbelievable. The only thing I regret is not ordering a 2nd one.
We were 3 people, ordered a 1.7kg steak with medium sized sides of potatoes, mushrooms, braised vegetables, and a tomato salad. We also had padron peppers to start and a cheesecake to finish.
Its a 10/10 experience, couldn't recommend this restaurant any higher. We...
