Café bar la Gitana — Restaurant in Palma

We visited this restaurant yesterday as a family of 5 after seeing all the great reviews- but sadly, it turned out to be a big disappointment.

When we arrived, we were attended by two girls who smelled strongly of alcohol and were clearly not in a fit state to work. One of them even started dancing in the middle of the dining area and only managed to take half of our order. She dropped trays several times and created a very uncomfortable atmosphere.

After a while, another young woman arrived who was clearly overwhelmed but incredibly hardworking. She seemed to be doing everything — taking orders, serving drinks, running food, and cleaning up — all while trying to hold things together amid visible tension and arguments among the staff. We felt genuinely sorry for her, as she was clearly doing her best while others were letting her down.

The table next to us had a similar experience and ended up leaving early. It’s a real shame, because the place itself looks nice and has potential — but allowing visibly drunk or drugged staff to work is simply...

The location is very cozy and the atmosphere is great. The food was tasty but unfortunately there were some misunderstandings for the order.

We ordered the food from the menu displayed on the outside of the restaurant, but received a completely different dish due to the outdoor displayed menu does not apply. Only the indoor one is the correct menu. We felt tricked; tricked to sit down in the restaurant due to the outdoor menu, then not serve whats displayed. Please change the outdoor menu then? Very unstructured.

Food was excellent and location/ambience was brilliant. Unfortunately the service was poor. Staff were chatting amongst themselves & talking over radios while taking orders/serving food & drinks. Unfortunately we did not feel welcomed by staff and had to ask for items we ordered to be brought to the table. It was a real shame as this overshadowed the best food we ate...
