Monday the 17th of June it was finally so far, the birthday of my girlfriend and our dinner at your restaurant, but what a disaster it was. We were really excited when we saw the pictures on the internet to have her birthday dinner by you, but everything what could go wrong, was going wrong. I had booked the balloons, fake candles, petals and a rose, so i expected when we arrived that our table was decorated in a beautiful way. When we came in the restaurant i didn’t saw anything, so i was already a bit upset, as i wanted to have my girlfriend a nice feeling on her 25th birthday with also the dinner. Then i asked the waiter were it was what i had asked for, but she reacted like she didnt really know about it or like it was just normal that it was ‘forgotten’. She also said you can sit outside, while we booked especially a place inside the glass terrace, so they didnt even know about our reservation. Then we were going to change our place, i had to ask a few times if there was coming something for my girlfriends birthday or not. Waiter didnt had a clear answer on. The suprise was completely gone, as my girlfriend also heard about it. Then, more then a half hour later, they came with 2 ugly balloons, which were half blown up, 3 little fake candles, and then didnt even have petals to decorate the table. The waiter tries to place the balloons on our table and threw it a few times on the ground and was laughing by it. Like its super funny that you first already screw up our birthday dinner and suprise and then put the balloons on the table like, have fun with it. My girlfriend and i should have a positive vibe, talking about nice things, but we were only talking about how disgusting this was. Then, when we ordered the dinner, we received a plate where the vegetables were missing on. When i asked where they were, i got the answer, sorry we didn’t had them anymore. Instead of saying directly when we ordered our dinner something like: the vegetables are not there, we can offer you something else, but nothing like that was said. When i didnt asked about it, they didnt even inform us about the fact it wasnt there. Later, they offered us some vegetables, but the mistake was already made by not informing us about the fact that what we wanted wasn’t there. I’m really really dissappointed in all the services from your restaurant. A sorry will not solve the problem, while our whole birthday dinner was screwed up. The waiters looked irritated at us, like we were the ones who did something wrong. There was only one waiter, a woman with dark hair, who speaked English, who tried to do her best to make it a little bit better with offering us a cocktail from the house. But ofcourse this didn’t make our feeling better. In the end they promised me my money back. I had to give my name, e-mail and phone number and they told me that it will be fixed. I've sended them an e-mail, but ofcourse they didn't react on...

Recoveco is considered a fine establishment but to no apparent reason other than its rooftop bar with a limited view. We dined here on a Wednesday evening and our first warning should have been the almost empty venue.

There are a lot of negative aspects to dining here so let’s just mention the few upsides.

On a sunny day the rooftop might be surprisingly nice. The venue it self is clean with a modern look. The staff seem friendly and the chairs are nice to sit in.

Now for the food, service and atmosphere. The waiters seem to have no pride in what they do. With only three tables we had to wait for approximately 15 minutes for drinks. They only cleaned half the table before disappearing for 10 minutes. It also took a solid 15 minutes before we got the check (mind you there were only two other tables beside ours). We ordered two whiskey sours which were prepared incorrectly (no sugar sirup) and resembled what I imagine tomato sauce mixed with whiskey might. The starters were ill prepared. We had the ox tail croquettes which tasted like oatmeal. The prawn salad tastes exactly like cheap store bought prawn salad and might actually have been. The tacos were dry with little to no taste.

For main course we had a Chateaubriand beef (simple beef with fries). I asked for medium and as the pictures show it was rare at best. At one point I swear I could hear my steak MOO. We also had the burger. More correctly TRIED to have the burger. The beef was overcooked, the bread was dry and the vegetables were probably fresh last year when they were bought. Our last member had papperdelle pasta. Overcooked pasta. The meat had almost no sauce and what little sauce was present had diminishing taste.

As far as experience goes this was terrible in all senses. I would recommend to stay far clear from such a place as it seems like a classical “tourist trap” where you are lured in with nice pictures of views and the appearance of good food. None of it actually present. Yet the most disappointing part might have been the staff, it truly seemed like no one was enjoying working there which became apparent both in food and service quality.

In short expensive, bad taste, bad ingredients, staff with no passion and...

The only disappointment on my 25 years birthday was this restaurant. Frustrating and awkward experience. My boyfriend booked a surprise for me in advance, that was supposed to be a decorated table, offered by the restaurant for special occasions for an extra price of 36 euros. Once we came in, we first got a table not even in the place we booked it, and no decorations were there. Surprise was totally ruined since we didn’t get anything made and my boyfriend had to tell that to me and clarify things for long, he had to ask for the decorations a few times, and after waiting for long we got three fake tiny candles and balloons which were all the time falling, and the stuff didn’t know where can that be put at all. We have given a chance to the food and even this was going wrong. We have both ordered a steak with potatoes and green peppers and didn’t get green peppers. The stuff hasn’t said anything about the fact that they don’t have that anymore, which is not of a great deal if told in advance, which of course didn’t happen. At some moment we had a waiter changed which saved a situation slightly, we have received two free cocktails and another vegetables, the girl was the only friendly person there who did her best. However, I can never recommend this place to someone, especially if you have any special event. The restaurant should not offer any extra services if cannot really provide them. I felt awkward and a customer who is not welcomed for all the time and couldn’t enjoy anything. My birthday is always special to me and I had it ruined.

Llega el día de la reserva y al entrar en el hotel, una recepcionista muy amable nos pregunta por el nombre de la reserva y por un pinganillo habla con alguien (entiendo que del restaurante) y le da un código, nos acompaña hasta el ascensor y nos dice que es la 4ª planta, hasta ese momento, todo parecía ir como uno espera cuando va a un restaurante de un hotel 5*GL, per ahí quedó todo. Al subir, nos atiende quien mas adelante nos comentaron que era el jefe de sala de ese día, preguntándonos por el nombre de la reserva (otra vez, sí), y nos dice que esperemos que va a mirar nuestra reserva (no sé con quien hablaría la chica de recepción, pero en el restaurante no sabían que estábamos llegando) y nos coloca en la parte exterior (no habían tenido en cuenta mi llamada del día anterior), pero como no hacia tanto frio y viento como se esperaba, no decimos nada. Las vistas son bonitas, pero no fabulosas, el restaurante se empeña en poner plantas que cubren la vista si estas sentado y además, al lado del baño, había un telón negro cubriendo lo que parecía una pila de sillas...y ese telón negro, tapaba la vista a parte de la ciudad. No había algo de música, baja, que amenice la comida, algo tipo jazz, chill es lo que pega en este tipo de terrazas, muy bajito, que se escuche pero que no moleste. El camarero nos comenta si deseamos beber algo y le decimos que mientras nos trae la carta que nos traiga una botella de agua ya que veníamos andando de lejos; y trajo el agua...pero la carta de comida no llegó hasta pasados 25 minutos, de reloj. Reclamé 2 veces la carta, a una chica que me comentó que ella solo servía y a un chico que parecía como de Guest Experience, no lo sé, estaba todo el rato mas pendiente de leer la tablet que tenia que de ver que el servicio no estaba yendo bien. A los 25 minutos y tras quejarme de que eso no podía ser, nos traen un QR...sí, 25 minutos para un QR, y con sólo una botella de agua en la mesa. Decidimos el menú, que era el Menú degustación atunero y una botella de vino blanco para acompañar. A los pocos minutos, llega el primer plato del Menú Degustación, que nos lo trae el que parece que era de Guest Experience y nos lo deja en la mesa, sin decirnos qué es, se marcha...y cuando se marcha le comento que qué es lo que nos ha puesto, y nos dice que tataki...pero viendo la guarnición, no casaba con lo que decía el menú degustación, así que cuando aparece el Jefe de sala, le pregunto y nos dice que es Sashimi de atún...así que imaginaros el nivelito...un menú degustación que no saben ni lo que te están poniendo. A todo esto, el primer plato en la mesa, y el vino sin llegar, que tuve que reclamarlo. Igualmente le comento al Jefe de Sala que me comentaron que nos pondrían un entrante como cortesía por hacer la reserva por teléfono y me comenta que para menús degustación no se hace, ya que el coste del servicio está integrado en el menú, no como si hubiera pedido a la carta...que entonces ponen el entrante y pan...ósea, que ni era cortesía especial, ni nada, es lo que hacen con todo el mundo, y además no me lo ponen por costes integrados del servicio...de traca, y mas viendo esta persona que la cosa no estaba yendo bien. En el segundo plato nos traen una minuta para poder ir siguiendo los platos que van a ir llegando, al fin algo de luz en esta experiencia!! Fueron llegando platos, todos con una altísima materia prima, y una cocina muy cuidada. De los 9 platos del Menú Degustación, solo en 4 nos explicaron qué es lo que íbamos a comer, y no una explicación amplia, no, si no esto es tartar de atún o sashimi ni una explicación sobre el acompañamiento de cada plato. Conforme pasaban los platos se veían mas camareros, y eso que el restaurante estuvo muy lejos de estar lleno en todo momento. Seríamos 7-8 mesas. Pagamos, nos marchamos con la sensación de que la calidad de la comida está a un nivel mucho mas superior que el servicio, el cual no es de 5*GL y ni mucho menos vale el dinero que hemos pagado en la cuenta.

Allow me to start with this. The video is AFTER we were finished eating. Recoveco is considered a fine establishment but to no apparent reason other than its rooftop bar with a limited view. We dined here on a Wednesday evening and our first warning should have been the almost empty venue. There are a lot of negative aspects to dining here so let’s just mention the few upsides. On a sunny day the rooftop might be surprisingly nice. The venue it self is clean with a modern look. The staff seem friendly and the chairs are nice to sit in. Now for the food, service and atmosphere. The waiters seem to have no pride in what they do. With only three tables we had to wait for approximately 15 minutes for drinks. They only cleaned half the table before disappearing for 10 minutes. It also took a solid 15 minutes before we got the check (mind you there were only two other tables beside ours). We ordered two whiskey sours which were prepared incorrectly (no sugar sirup) and resembled what I imagine tomato sauce mixed with whiskey might. The starters were ill prepared. We had the ox tail croquettes which tasted like oatmeal. The prawn salad tastes exactly like cheap store bought prawn salad and might actually have been. The tacos were dry with little to no taste. For main course we had a Chateaubriand beef (simple beef with fries). I asked for medium and as the pictures show it was rare at best. At one point I swear I could hear my steak MOO. We also had the burger. More correctly TRIED to have the burger. The beef was overcooked, the bread was dry and the vegetables were probably fresh last year when they were bought. Our last member had papperdelle pasta. Overcooked pasta. The meat had almost no sauce and what little sauce was present had diminishing taste. As far as experience goes this was terrible in all senses. I would recommend to stay far clear from such a place as it seems like a classical “tourist trap” where you are lured in with nice pictures of views and the appearance of good food. None of it actually present. Yet the most disappointing part might have been the staff, it truly seemed like no one was enjoying working there which became apparent both in food and service quality. In short expensive, bad taste, bad ingredients, staff with no passion and alright chairs.

The only disappointment on my 25 years birthday was this restaurant. Frustrating and awkward experience. My boyfriend booked a surprise for me in advance, that was supposed to be a decorated table, offered by the restaurant for special occasions for an extra price of 36 euros. Once we came in, we first got a table not even in the place we booked it, and no decorations were there. Surprise was totally ruined since we didn’t get anything made and my boyfriend had to tell that to me and clarify things for long, he had to ask for the decorations a few times, and after waiting for long we got three fake tiny candles and balloons which were all the time falling, and the stuff didn’t know where can that be put at all. We have given a chance to the food and even this was going wrong. We have both ordered a steak with potatoes and green peppers and didn’t get green peppers. The stuff hasn’t said anything about the fact that they don’t have that anymore, which is not of a great deal if told in advance, which of course didn’t happen. At some moment we had a waiter changed which saved a situation slightly, we have received two free cocktails and another vegetables, the girl was the only friendly person there who did her best. However, I can never recommend this place to someone, especially if you have any special event. The restaurant should not offer any extra services if cannot really provide them. I felt awkward and a customer who is not welcomed for all the time and couldn’t enjoy anything. My birthday is always special to me and I had it ruined.

Llega el día de la reserva y al entrar en el hotel, una recepcionista muy amable nos pregunta por el nombre de la reserva y por un pinganillo habla con alguien (entiendo que del restaurante) y le da un código, nos acompaña hasta el ascensor y nos dice que es la 4ª planta, hasta ese momento, todo parecía ir como uno espera cuando va a un restaurante de un hotel 5*GL, per ahí quedó todo. Al subir, nos atiende quien mas adelante nos comentaron que era el jefe de sala de ese día, preguntándonos por el nombre de la reserva (otra vez, sí), y nos dice que esperemos que va a mirar nuestra reserva (no sé con quien hablaría la chica de recepción, pero en el restaurante no sabían que estábamos llegando) y nos coloca en la parte exterior (no habían tenido en cuenta mi llamada del día anterior), pero como no hacia tanto frio y viento como se esperaba, no decimos nada. Las vistas son bonitas, pero no fabulosas, el restaurante se empeña en poner plantas que cubren la vista si estas sentado y además, al lado del baño, había un telón negro cubriendo lo que parecía una pila de sillas...y ese telón negro, tapaba la vista a parte de la ciudad. No había algo de música, baja, que amenice la comida, algo tipo jazz, chill es lo que pega en este tipo de terrazas, muy bajito, que se escuche pero que no moleste. El camarero nos comenta si deseamos beber algo y le decimos que mientras nos trae la carta que nos traiga una botella de agua ya que veníamos andando de lejos; y trajo el agua...pero la carta de comida no llegó hasta pasados 25 minutos, de reloj. Reclamé 2 veces la carta, a una chica que me comentó que ella solo servía y a un chico que parecía como de Guest Experience, no lo sé, estaba todo el rato mas pendiente de leer la tablet que tenia que de ver que el servicio no estaba yendo bien. A los 25 minutos y tras quejarme de que eso no podía ser, nos traen un QR...sí, 25 minutos para un QR, y con sólo una botella de agua en la mesa. Decidimos el menú, que era el Menú degustación atunero y una botella de vino blanco para acompañar.
