Food is pretty good, I got the Ganchang fried chicken and it was tasty.
The only thing that turned me off from this place was the girl who took my order, which surprised me because everyone has praised the waiters in these reviews. For some reason this girl was acting like I was her mortal enemy and I didn’t know it. I arrived in Seville and just wanted to grab a nice meal to end my night. I went in to the restaurant and asked if there was a table for 1, the girl said no. I asked if she roughly knew how long it would be until a table opened up and she said she didn’t know, but that I could get takeout. I said thank you and left for like 30 minutes deciding if I should eat somewhere else or just get takeout. Eventually I came back. It was the same girl, I asked if I could please get some takeout. Her whole demeanor was really off from the start. Maybe I offended her by walking out for a little bit? I asked how many pieces come with the small portion of fried chicken, and I asked her if she thinks it’s a good portion for just one person (I just wanted to make sure I could finish it?I don’t like to waste food) She answered really annoyingly, as if I had offended her. Maybe I was asking too many questions and should’ve just ordered and left. I really don’t know what I did wrong because I was also making sure to speak Spanish and to be as polite as possible. (I’m half Korean half Mexican so I grew up in a Spanish speaking household, and so funnily enough eating Korean food in Spain seemed fitting for me specifically).
Anyways, she grumpily took my order and I paid and left. The whole experience was so randomly jarring for no reason, it felt really personal as she was really cheery and happy with everyone else around her and other customers but then she would turn to me and her smile would completely fade. I don’t know what I did wrong but I’m too intimidated to ever come back to this place, the food wasn’t good enough for me to willingly feel like I don’t belong there.
TLDR: food was good, but not good enough for me to come back again due to the strange experience I had with the girl who...
Read moreI’ll just state the problems with this place -IMO , of course. in order to make reservations you have to use instagram. No other options. :( we arrived at 8:30 pm and asked for a table. They offered us a high chair table next to entrance and the till. Not until later did I realise that there were completely seperate area with 3 ( I counted ) tables that no one used while we were there. The area was also hot and those tables I find uncomfortable. the waitress was not focused at all. She kept looking at other staff and who is entering while we spoke to her. you have to squeeze the chicken toy to get their attention. Woke up a germaphobe in me (imagine how many ppl touched that thing :(( Food : we wanted crispy chicken. There was 0 crunch in that chicken. Some chicken pieces didn’t have any batter at all. Was all Brest pieces. Please learn how to make chicken crispy. It’s not hard. Has nothing to do with flavour- it’s a textural issue. This is basic stuff. It’s a BIG issue IMO. no option to chose between boneless or with bones. kimchi was very weak. The cabbage pieces were big, hard and just bland. I don’t understand how you can mess it up. chips and tomato sauce ? Really. ? You guys didn’t even salt the chips. dumplings and the boiled egg were cold inside and instant noodles were still uncooked. Indicates assembled dish rather then cooked to order. no pickled radish at all. miso soup without tofu. Again. Chicken had no crunch. That’s crazy. My local place in Australia does chicken which is still crunchy after being in...
Read moreI cannot believe the people who post here saying that the food is authentic. The rose ddukbboki was absolutely sub par (one star). It's extremely creamy and you cannot taste any heat. They try to add fluff by adding 중국당면 & dumplings & potato chips, which is great but the flavor is not there. The 제육볶음 was not great either. (Two stars) A poor imitation at best. I'm korean and eat korean food all the time both in US and Korea. Of course, you don't expect the quality that Korea produces but I would have expected somewhere on the lower spectrum of the ones I had in CA. It was such a disappointment.
The reservation was easy; you do it via instagram or over the phone and the servers were kind and nice. But overall, it's a restaurant. The food has to be good.
I basically did not eat my ddukbokki because it was literally the worst rice cake I have ever had. And this is my favorite dish!! I have eaten it at literally every Korean restaurant I have been to. The cook kept looking at me from the kitchen and judged me after they saw the leftovers. Well, I'm not going to eat food that I think doesn't taste good. Sorry if that offends you.
I do think there is better luck with fried chicken and instant noodles, soju etc. I don't understand the reviews that state that the soju tastes the same. It's in a bottle.
