Bar Nordic — Restaurant in Stockholm

My husband and I had dinner at Bar Nordic on the last day of our trip to Stockholm this summer. The service and atmosphere was out of this world! The restaurant exemplifies Nordic elegance with its forest-inspired decor. Even the bathroom evokes a sauna-like atmosphere! What's more, from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with unparalleled warmth and hospitality. Our server was excellent (and very willing to help my husband practice his Swedish), and the chef even came out to talk to us about the food and the restaurant's commitment to sustainability. The two of them made us feel like family in the best way possible.

For dinner, we got the elk meatballs and the arctic char, with the recommended pairings of blueberry wine and lingonberry wine. We were so impressed that the restaurant produces its own wine, and they were both unique and delicious. The meatballs were admittedly not my favorite in Stockholm (elk is naturally a drier meat), but the flavors were harmonious. My husband LOVED his char! We got the cloudberry dessert for a light and tart end to a lovely meal. The menu is small, but Bar Nordic is focused on quality over quantity. If we'd had the chance, we would've come back and tried some of their specialty Swedish cocktails.

If you’re visiting Stockholm and want to kick off your trip with a proper Nordic vibe, Bar Nordic is the place to start — and it’s just a stone’s throw from Stockholm Central Station, so no excuses!

The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for: warm, cozy, and full of that laid-back Scandinavian charm. The staff were absolutely fantastic — especially one guy who was so authentically Nordic he could have walked straight out of a Viking saga (seriously, someone give this man a longboat and a horn of mead).

The food? Amazing. The drinks? Even better. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and felt like a real taste of the north. Service was quick, friendly, and made the whole experience even better.

Whether you’re just off the train or just looking for a place to soak in some authentic Stockholm spirit, Bar Nordic delivers. Can’t recommend it enough — Skål! 🍻...

I’ve been meaning to write this review for weeks. First place we went to eat while in Stockholm. A few blocks from Clarion Sign. The wine is from the owners’ own vineyard. Delicious tasting blueberry wine, lingonberry wine, etc. the mixed cocktails are also a treat. Our server and mixologist was amazing. We even saw him around town and he was ever so gracious. The food is fresh, local, and delicious. Can’t say enough great things about this place. We were here for 6 nights and came 3 of the nights. We are foodies so we usually don’t do this but had to stop by to see our new friends and try all the flavors of their wine. Please don’t hesitate and just try this local gem.
