It is with great frustration and deep disappointment that I write this review about our appalling experience at Ai Ramen Klara. I cannot stress enough the anger and hurt my husband and I experienced due to the blatant racism and unprofessionalism we were subjected to during our visit.
On April 7th, 2023, my husband and I decided to dine at Ai Ramen Klara after hearing rave reviews about their food and ambiance. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and found a nearly empty restaurant but were still turned away by the staff.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted coldly by the host, who hesitated when we requested a table for two. He then proceeded to tell us that they were fully booked for the night, despite the fact that most of the tables were unoccupied. It was painfully clear that this was an excuse, and we were being denied service because of our race.
My husband and I were in utter disbelief as we tried to process the situation. As we stood there, we watched as other patrons, who were of a different race, were welcomed in and promptly seated. The blatant discrimination we experienced was both infuriating and heartbreaking.
I am appalled that in this day and age, a business like Ai Ramen Klara can still harbor such discriminatory practices. We left the restaurant feeling humiliated and disrespected, and we will never return.
I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Ai Ramen Klara to think twice before supporting a business that allows racism to govern their service. It is our hope that by sharing our experience, others will be spared the hurt and anger that we endured.
My husband and I will continue to share our story and encourage others to stand against discrimination in all its forms. Ai Ramen Klara, your lack of empathy and refusal to treat all patrons equally is inexcusable, and we hope that one day you will learn from your mistakes and strive to create a welcoming...
Read moreCosy atmosphere and a potential great Ramen shop/place. But the experience was mediocre to say the least. Me and 4 friends had to wait in total 30 minutes for a table (drop in) and + 40-50 min for the actual serving of the food. The bartender was nonchalant by not being able to serve or recommend a non alcoholic cocktail to my friend. While ordering another friend wanted suggestions for pairing the food with drink, and the service couldn't answer what type of miso were used (did he even know what miso was?!) Or flavour Profile in the dish to get a since of what works or what not. The food for my meat eating friends were good by their standard. My vegan option was bland, lack umami and the mushrooms were undercooked. Also the marinated tofu was raw and cold. Unfortunately I think Ramen only works as a concept when doing it exactly like in Japan or Ivan Ramen in NYC (the latter is the concept copied by Ai Ramen) but then you'll have to know what you're serving. Serve it faster, because it's fast food or simplify it like the shops I've visited in Osaka were they serve one(!) Soup and one that is delicious. You get 2 stars for the potential. But you give me a sense that Ramen in this country only gonna be a...
Read moreI stumbled upon a bowl of ramen that felt like a warm hug on a cold Nordic day. The star of the show? A beautifully balanced chicken ramen, crafted with care and bursting with comfort.
The broth was a rich, golden elixir—clearly simmered for hours, infused with deep umami wrapped around every ingredient like a cozy blanket, delivering warmth in every spoonful.
Nestled within were tender slices of chicken, juicy and perfectly cooked, offering a clean contrast to the richness of the broth. The pak choi added a welcome crunch and fresh, slightly bitter bite that cut through the savory flavors like a dream.
But the real game-changer? The homemade noodles. You could taste the love and labor in every chewy strand—springy, soft, and miles ahead of any store-bought variety. They soaked up the broth beautifully without losing their texture, making each bite a satisfying experience.
If you’re in Stockholm and craving something soulful, this chicken ramen is a must. It’s not just food—it’s...
