The things started on the wrong foot: we had booked a table but there was no host in the entrance. So had to wait 10 min before a waiter approached us. The “highlight” of the place (pomme frite) were burnt, and too salted and contained a lot of small left-over pieces. I ordered steak tartar and asked to take out the Dijon mustard from the mustard-mayo that was written in the menu. Ended up with just a plain minced beef with few pickles aside. Not chopped, rather minced. Guess what… the “tartar” tasted exactly like a plain minced beef, also, not of the greatest quality… After some time the waiter asked if we liked our dishes. I told him exactly what I mentioned above. There was an awkward silence for a long moment and then the waiter just left. I was hoping to be offered another dish or some kind of assistance, but seems like it was too much to ask. Not coming back.

To commence with- the quantity could be bit less(pertaining to food only)compared to what one would have expected, but they excel in quality, authenticity and service. They were out of mussels and monkfish which was a pity, however the appetiser with bone marrow was exquisite(well first time for me, so I was tad bit confused on which portion to eat and how :) and the Belgian truffle dessert was tiny, but delicious. In the beer department however, there were plethora of options and the few I tried all were awesome.

I haven't eaten here, so I can't rate the food, but this is one of the best Belgian beer bars outside of Belgium you're gonna find. The wide selection and impressive knowledge demonstrated by the bartenders make this a must visit for beer connoisseurs. Also, while not being the most important part of the experience, it's a very nice touch that all beers are served in the specific brand glass.

Short summary: Pressklubben is my absolute favorite in Stockholm.

Stockholm has a lot of great pubs and restaurants, but I would argue Pressklubben is the absolute best if you love Belgian ales, beers, etc. There are a couple of others, but I keep coming back here. The atmosphere is genteel, with a little older clientele, so conversation is easy - you can hear yourself think. The restaurant is delicious and even the food from the bar menu is tasty enough to make it your evening dinner.

Best, though, is the beer. Jens behind the bar knows his stuff and the rotating selection is always interesting. The "Wall of Belgian Beers" is a feast for the eyes, with more variety than I could go...

Food was average, I suppose, but highly overpriced. I was presented with a meal that was so small it wouldn't be enough for a 4-year-old (a small piece of fish and three minutely small potatoes), while my company got more reasonably sized meals. When questioned, the waiter suggested I be compensated with a complimentary dessert, but when we payed for the dinner the dessert was fully charged for. When I asked what happened with the check the head waiter turned increasingly more aggressive, and no compensation was offered. I have no intention of...
