When you charge 50SEK for a chai latte, I expected an actually hand made latte, what I got was a machine made latte that was bland. You get actually hand made chai latte for 17kr in Hötorget, please go there. No bathrooms, impolite workers, overpriced machine latte, the whole place smelled like bacon grease and to top it off they have the audacity to have a machine that requests a tip in a country that doesn't have a tipping culture. Never coming back, and my recommendation is to stay away.
What a joke.
Edit, as a reply to the owners comment: Multiple people recently are complaining about the smell, multiple people recently are complaining about rude staff. How can you claim you make your chai latte with quality when all you do is press a button on a machine??? I have worked as a barista myself for years, your chai latte is shameful, just look at the picture of it.
My only "premature conceptions" was that I was expecting not to be treated rudely and to get a hand made chai latte when the price is 4.5€ Look at the picture of my latte and tell me you would pay 50SEK for that.
Your place was disappointing, your prices are extremely high for a machine made latté, and many share my opinion.
Don't be so defensive and take the criticism as a chance...
Read moreAwful experience here on my first visit (which was also my first visit to Sweden), and no wonder it was completely empty when I showed up. I was made to feel unwelcome the moment I walked in, and was lied to about the closing time as a way to make me leave sooner. Not only that, when I asked for my drink to go because I couldn’t tolerate sitting in such an awful environment amongst both staff, the waitress poured half of my drink down the sink when I had my back turned and lied about it. I clearly heard it being poured out because it contained ice and the amount remaining in my to go cup after the fact was utterly shocking considering I hadn’t even drank a quarter of my drink in the first place. When I confronted the waitress, she lied to my face as though I was born yesterday. Racist, classless and disgusting staff who should be utterly ASHAMED of...
Read moreGamla Stan's usp is the fact that it is quaint and cute. And this cafe doesn't disappoint. It is tucked in the street very comfortably and had such an autumnal October feel. When we visited it was raining outside, so the warmth emanating out of the cafes door just calls you in! The decor in the display window, with the buns and autumn leaves is beautiful. Must visit in the evening, when the yellow and orange lights are most prominent. I had the hot chocolate with cream. Quite tasty, though I was expecting a more 'thick' drink. But this one was more on the milky consistency side. The amount of sugar is just perfect, not too much like the usual hot chocolate! The drinks could have been warmer, like I was expecting a scalding hot drink but instead got a warm one which I didn't need to blow...
