It's more an expensive wine bar for people to socialise and meet for drinks - food is a bit of an afterthought....definitely don't go there if you are hungry or wanting a decent sized meal for dinner.
At least the food was not as terrible tasting as it looked but it wasn't "good" either and the portions were so scanty it was a bit ridiculous the lack of food I was served on a plate covered in froth to hide the lack of substance on the plate(i think i counted 4 broad beans, a tablespoon of peas and a few tiny chanterelles with a 12cm x12cm single sheet of pasta over the top not joking) then because I was starving a plate of 4 broccoli which had barely had any proper preparation to make them bitesize - so long I felt like an ape with stalk sticking out of my mouth as the wait staff hadn't bothered to supply a knife so that I could eat it in a more civilised fashion.
I left 210SEK poorer and with my belly still rumbling from hunger. I was recommended to go to this place by my clueless accommodation...even though there are plenty of heartier alternatives and cheaper for food nearby. it was a memorable first meal in Stockholm for all the...
Read moreThis is a modern restaurant with a sharing plate concept. I rolled my eyes too, but it works! They bring out one dish at a time and because the flavours are fairly complex, it was nice to take a moment to appreciate each plate. The pacing of the dishes was right so no long waits and every dish is explained, as was the menu which was much appreciated.
The food itself was of a very high quality and served in an attractive manner without the fussiness of some places. The mushroom dish was particularly excellent, but the reindeer and pork were delicious too. Each plate had several elements which were perfectly executed and perfectly balanced and ending on the churros was delightful!
Service is knowledgeable without being intrusive and they change their menu regularly. Certainly worth finding the time to dine here whilst in Stockholm. I wouldn't say the online menu is representative of the menu on the night, it was so much more interesting when we got there!
Someone really likes food and cares about what goes on the plates here, I would certainly return if I am in the city again...
Read moreWe visited during Stockholm dining week, so basically trying their new dishes.
The conclusion is we liked the vegetarian dish (while none of us is vegetarian, obviously) and the cheese platter the most.
The finger foods were good, no memory after the meal so it was not amazing. The Hamachi crudo was a disaster in my opinion as the first dish: too fishy and greasy at the same time to my liking. The sauce was supposed to make the fishy sashimi fresher, but the sauce ending up making the dish even worse.
The paella was good, again nothing amazing.
The pulled pork with coriander reminded me of a homemade pork stew.
The semifreddo, I don't get why there has to be a cookie base, nothing making it tasted nicer because the cookie got soaked by the ice cream and made it a strange texture. Semifreddo was personally my favorite desert but I've tried something soo much better that this is only a pass.
The staff were all very kind and recommended us gin and tonic and wines. The...
