TO AVOID ! SCAM!! We had a very bad experience in this restaurant, not only have we been ripped off, the waitress also had the most unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour. I strongly advise against this restaurant whose staff and service are deplorable. Especially the blond middle-aged waitress who treated us poorly during our entire stay. As soon as we put one foot in the restaurant, the waitress clearly had a problem with us and was very rude and condescending to us, not wanting to make any effort to serve us. We sat on the terrasse outside and had to wait a very long time to be able to order. So much so that we had to go and get the menus ourselves while the waitress looked down on us. There is a special discount written clearly on the menus where you can order one breakfast meal and have one free. When ordering our food, we clearly asked the specifics of this offer and therefore took 4 breakfast meals in the idea of having 2 free. After waiting another considerable amount of time for the waitress to clear our table and ask for the bill, we had to go to the checkout inside ourselves so that we could pay and leave. WITHOUT INFORMING US, the waitress made us pay for all the breakfasts, purposely omitting the discount we clearly asked for. When we realised it and asked for explanations, the waitress was rude, she insulted us and simply said it was too late and that we should have asked for it before paying. Wir gehen oft ins Mövenpick Brasserie am Marktplatz essen und waren immer zufrieden. Deshalb kam ich auf die Idee, dass wir am Sonntag mit meiner 91 jährigen Mutter dort essen gehen und ihr so auch gleich die Möglichkeit geben im Sitzen bei gutem Essen, die Eröffnung des ESC mitzuerleben. Deshalb reservierte ich bereits am Freitag einen Tisch am Fenster für uns, bekamm diese Reservation für den Sonntag um 14 Uhr auch bestätigt und habe mich darauf verlassen. Doch als wir dort hin kamen, fanden sie zuerst unsere Reservation nicht und als diese dann doch gefunden wurde, war der Tisch vergeben. Als ich sah, dass diese Gäste an "unserem" Tisch bereits fertig mit dem Essen waren und nur noch der Eröffnung des ESC zuschauen wollten, sagte ich der Servicekraft D., dass sie diesen Gästen doch bitte sagen soll, dass dieser Tisch ab 14 Uhr reserviert sei uns sie deshalb bitte gehen sollen. Doch sie ging nach längerem hin und her nur an besagten Tisch und fragte ob sie gehen oder den Tisch wechseln möchten, was diese natürlich verneinten. Dann kam sie uns schrie ob ich jetzt den Tisch ganz hinten beim hinteren Ausgang, bei der Treppe zur Toilette haben möchte. Ich sagte sie soll mich nicht anschreiben. Sie habe den Fehler gemacht und will diesen nicht korrigieren, nicht ich. Andere Gäste drehten sich bereits um weil sie so laut war und wild mit ihren Armen fuchtelte. Mir war die Lust am Essen vergangen, doch mir blieb ja mit unserer 91jährigen Mutter nichts anderes übrig als den hintersten Tisch zu nehmen. An diesem Tag war wirklich der Wurm drin. Denn an dem Tisch wurden wir dann nicht bedient. Erst als ich uns selber die Speisekarten holte, wurde eine andere Servicekraft aufmerksam und war dann sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. So wie wir es eigentlich gewohnt sind in diesem Restaurant. Doch dem immer noch nicht genug, bestellte ich Spargeln, welche ich nicht essen konnte. Diese waren richtig süss und es war ein süsser Buttersud im Teller in dem auch die Salzkartoffeln lagen und ebenfalls süss waren. Die Sauce Hollandaise war wie ein Pudding und beim rühren grisselig. Die Servicekraft sagte dann, dass sie die Spargel bei ihnen immer caramelisiert würden. Ich mache auch eine bisschen Zucker in das Kochwasser, aber die waren süss wie eine Nachspeise und nicht essbar. Wäre ich jetzt das erste Mal in diesem Restaurant gewesen, ich würde nie mehr...

Tourists stay away! We were passing along the square and read about a special offer just outside the entrance of the restaurant saying: “Chicken Wings à discretion for CHF 21.95 p.P.” We decided to take this opportunity and took a table inside. The food was ordered without menu card consultation, of course.. “Three Chicken Wings and three beers and two portions of frites” The food was normal, the atmosphere and the service too. The surprise just arrived with the bill: Chicken Wings were just 30.00 CHF worth instead of 21.95 as mentioned outside the entrance. We were asking the reason of this “upgrade” and the response was: “The table outside is outdated. You could have had consulted the menu card were the price is 30 CHF…” What’s a shame Mövenpick..
