Bohemia Basel — Restaurant in Basel

Recently I had lunch at Bohemia restaurant - the Bohemia salad was delicious and the portion size good for my taste however for a hungry man it might be small as a single dish. This time the waiting and the quality of service was better than when I visited the restaurant for the first time which was the second day after the opening. We had to wait for ca. 10min and nobody came to even ask if we wanted anything to drink. The people at the table next to us were already standing and said they are waiting to pay for more that 15min and feel like leaving just like that. After having heard that we stood up and left. I understand it was the second day after the opening and its must have been stressful and chaotic however the first impression counts! It would be great if the first days extra attention and training of the personnel was aiming at at least asking what people wanted and bringing drinks like water fast. We wanted to have a drink with friends, but I am speechless at how the waiter treated us yesterday. Beyond the lack of professionalism, the waiter responsible for the cocktail/dining area was shamefully rude. I came with my baby, and it was clear he didn’t like it, doing everything he could to make me leave. I wasn’t waiting in the right place, we were in the way—no matter where we were. Then, after 20 minutes, a table became available, so I went to ask him for a seat, but he took pleasure in seating someone who had just walked into the restaurant at that moment. This was the beginning of various dishonest, inappropriate, and offensive remarks toward me. I am shocked, speechless, and saddened by this person’s disrespectful behavior and gratuitous unkindness. Great location but unfriendly staff, they seem quite dizzy and mostly rude, the cake of the day wasnt fresh at all. Pure quality of design, couches confortable but the tables too high for the couch, isnt bohemian at all, chairs hmmm. It seems like they found somewhere all the furniture and put everything together. It is so sad because to location is great and they could habe done something extravagant in town. The view to the kitchen doesnt make sense - too much caos - a nice design wall should be more appropriate. More desserts with more sparkle would make sense instead of using the cake from yesterday. Staff rude. Unfortunately the whole impression is like being in a mensa instead of a bohemian bar restaurant.
