The service provided by this restaurant is top notch! First day, I came to this restaurant, sat in a 2 seater table (later became 4 seater as there was some space constraint and they wanted me to sit comfortably) and ordered a plain briyani (cheaper option). I was served with a hot plate of briyani, grinded green chilli (for extra spice) and later I asked for raitha which was served for free. Had a nice meal and left for sight seeing. Second day, I went to a different Indian restaurant to try the same dish (again cheaper option). Firstly, I was moved politely from a 4 seater table to 1 seater (though the restaurant was really big and there were hell lot of empty seats, still I didn't complain as it didn't matter much to me). Secondly, I was served with a warm (not hot) plain briyani. No raitha, no grinded chilli (I noticed raitha was priced at 5CHF, seriously?!). I wanted to finish my meal soon and get outta there. I kinda felt like, the guests who ordered exotic dishes were treated well (but not sure about it). The same day evening, I came to this restaurant again (Welcome India King) and ordered the same dish. I didn't ask for anything else. This time, I was not only served with exactly the same way during my previous visit, but also with another extra add on! (brinjal curry I guess). Their service and food are top notch! The restaurant might actually look small but you'll feel home here :)
I purposefully did not mention the other restaurant's name as my sole intention was to praise this restaurant and not to degrade the other one. The food was good in both the...
Read moreI recently dined at Welcome India King Restaurant, a gem of a North Indian restaurant, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with elegant decor that transports you straight to the heart of North India. The staff are incredibly hospitable, making sure every guest feels welcomed and well taken care of.
The menu is a delightful showcase of North Indian cuisine, offering a wide range of dishes that cater to all tastes. Every dish is rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The attention to detail in every dish is commendable, and it’s clear that the chefs are passionate about delivering an authentic culinary experience.
It is worth noting that the prices are on the higher side, but this is consistent with the general cost of Indian food in Interlaken. Despite this, the quality and experience make it well worth the price.
Overall, Welcome India King Restaurant offers a true taste of North Indian cuisine with impeccable service and a charming atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of Indian food or looking to try it for the first time, this restaurant is...

During a stopover on my journey from France to Switzerland, I visited this restaurant in the evening around 7:30 or 8pm. Hoping to indulge in some authentic Chole Bhature, I was disappointed to find the dish didn't meet expectations. My friend pointed out that the curry seemed meat-based, not the vegetarian option I had anticipated. The ordering process was lengthy, taking around 20 minutes, followed by an additional 30-minute wait for the food to arrive. To add to the frustration, I paid 22 CHF for a dish that didn't meet my dietary preferences. Additionally, while other diners were served onions, we were not, leaving us questioning whether there was a staffing issue or if there were other factors at play. Overall, it was a...
