Rude, unfriendly, racist, and disrespectful staff. The staff sat us in an isolated area where barely any other staff passes by, hence it took about an hour for the waiter to come back and finally get our orders - which happened after having the need to call his attention twice. We got confused with “melted cheese with wine”, thinking it came with a drink, so when we asked about it the waiter responded sarcastically and impatiently instead of nicely explaining it. We ordered a raclette, the soup of the day, and fish (it was just like fish fingers and a salad and sauce). The place was not full at all, but after waiting about 30 minutes, I nicely asked the waiter how long more the food would take to be served, and he said two minutes. After about 5 minutes, my aunt calmy asked again how long it would take as the food was taking long. The server rudely raised his voice and said “you guys this is a restaurant, restaurants take 30 minutes after you order, why come to a restaurant if you can’t wait?! Have you eaten at a restaurant? Restaurants in China don’t serve food quickly right?!” (We are asians, but not Chinese nor East Asians). I have lived and eaten at so many restaurants in Europe and have never experienced a restaurant to take as long as they have - especially for what our order is and for how much people there was in the place. And the server’s attitude made us all lose our appetite. Meanwhile, another set of customers came in and sat near our table, this same server was loudly explaining that they serve food 30 minutes after ordering - trying to catch our attention. He also kept asking them every few minutes if they were ready to order and they even gave them a menu with photos so they can better understand the food they offer. To me this is very unfair and discriminating as he did not give us the same treatment nor expectations and even kept replying in a very rude, sarcastic way and even would start arguments with us as if we should just tolerate their horrible service.

Two other staff were also very cold, had impatient tones and gave us dirty looks upon leaving the restaurant.

It’s a tourist trap - not worth your money, time, nor energy. I’ve eaten in other fondue places where the staff and service are nicer and prices are more affordable, so go...

Disappointing Experience at Fritschi Restaurant, Switzerland I visited Fritschi Restaurant with high hopes, only to leave thoroughly disappointed. From start to finish, the service fell far below even the most basic standards of hospitality.

Rude and Dismissive Staff Waiters greeted us without a smile, barely making eye contact.

They behaved as if the restaurant were bursting at the seams—yet there were plenty of empty tables.

Attempts to ask simple questions (drink recommendations, daily specials) were met with sighs or curt responses.

Allergy and Intolerance Negligence Despite clearly stating my food intolerances when ordering, the kitchen ignored all warnings.

No one double-checked ingredients or offered to suggest safe alternatives.

This lapse put me at risk and demonstrated a shocking lack of basic duty of care.

Incorrect Order and Slow Resolution The dish I requested arrived completely wrong—incorrect side, wrong sauce, and missing my dietary modification.

When I politely pointed out the error, the waiter shrugged and walked away.

It took over 20 minutes before anyone bothered to apologize or attempt a fix.

Lack of Common Courtesy Menus were nowhere to be seen after seating; we had to fetch them from the counter ourselves.

Water glasses sat empty, and table settings went untouched until we asked.

There was no welcome, no “enjoy your meal,” and certainly no “thank you for coming.”

Overall Impression and Recommendation The combination of rude staff, disregard for allergies, inaccurate orders, and absent courtesy makes Fritschi Restaurant impossible to recommend. Until management addresses these fundamental failures—training servers in basic politeness and enforcing allergy protocols—I suggest diners look elsewhere for a respectful and safe...

We were four people having lunch to eat fondue, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The waiter told us we had to order an extra dish to avoid a 10CHF surcharge, as if the fondue couldn’t be shared. He didn’t explain that the extra dish had to be one per person, so we ordered a plate with assorted cold cuts. Then we were told they didn’t have it, so we ordered another dish that seemed to include some meat and potatoes. In the end, he brought a single dish with only one sausage and one rösti for all four of us.

The waiter did not explain anything clearly and seemed more interested in getting us to order wine instead of water than in clarifying the order. Nevertheless, they still applied the 10CHF surcharge on the bill.

Fondue of ridiculously small size for four, which came with a little chopped bread (like the kind you feed birds in the square) and that extra dish, which felt extremely overpriced. Overall, it felt like a tourist trap, forcing you to order one dish per person while treating the fondue only as an “appetizer". I would definitely not...

We went to Fritschi on our last night in Luzern and it was one of the best decision. Katarina who was our server was super sweet and was one of the best thing about our entire experience. We ordered cheese fondue with herb and the rosti with sausage- which both are very authentic and true to its origin. The taste is good but the the rosti is amazing, crispy but fluffy in the inside, fresh and very yummy. However, side not for asian taste bud, it can be salty comparing to typical east asian food, but understandable as the ingredient are originally (ex.cheese) like that. One amazing thing about Fritschi is that they allow one order of cheese fondue (which normally restaurants requires two order at least per table) so we can enjoy experience other menu without being so filled up. Before we left, Katarina introduced us to the restaurant and the square in front. The restaurant has been here for 400 years and the star in front of the restaurant represent the center of Switzerland. The history of the place is amazing and already worth visiting!
