*A review from a cheese lover (after 7 years in Switzerland)* We were quite reluctant at first to go there based on the ratings but we quickly understood why it got so bad reviews: they all came from people who never tried fondue or raclette in their life or tasted good cheese. Service was good and the waitress was super patient with me trying to speak few words of German. We took a raclette and a fondue à la Provençale. The raclette was delicious even if the presentation was not amazing. The fondue was incredible. The herbs really gave a new taste to the meal. For dessert, we took the Apfelstrudel with vanilla icecream. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was excellent. Regarding people complaining about price: it's the average price for a meal in Switzerland (90chf/2 people). In the end, I would definitely go back there to taste a bit of Switzerland.

Life is sooooo beautiful!! I saw some reviews by fellow Koreans and saw they served fondue for one (many places have a 2+ minimum!) so I came here. They have an herb fondue that was quite nice. Edin, the server, paired it with a nice white wine. As I was alone and fondue is typically a social activity, Edin stopped by the table once in a while to converse. It was such a LOVVVELLLYY experience! The cheesecake is not too sweet and beautiful with the caramel. I was recommended the rösti but will have to come back for it. The food was nice, but traveling solo and having these human connections are the absolute most gorgeous thing!! Thank you to Fritschi forever!

We ordered a fondue and the veal filled pastry based on the waiter’s recommendation. - Food: the fondue was very salty! I understand it’s all cheese and it’s supposed to be salty. But not this much! The pastry was ok but nothing to write home about. The price was much higher than the quality of the food. - Atmosphere: it’s an interesting and rustic place. We were seated close to the entrance. The staff were very noisy with the dishes, preparing stuff, and talking to each other. - Service: the service was rather slow and when they came they weren’t very careful. As a matter of fact the waiter almost poked my eye with the fondue forks! When it came to paying, they asked us if we were happy and wanted to add 10% tip, which created an awkward moment… after that the waiter was not friendly anymore.

Fritschi Restaurant in Lucerne is a must-visit for those looking to enjoy authentic Swiss cuisine in a charming and traditional setting. Located in the heart of the Old Town, this historic restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with its beautifully painted exterior and rustic interior. The menu features classic Swiss dishes, including the famous Rösti, fondue, and sausages, all prepared with high-quality ingredients that capture the essence of Swiss home-cooked meals. The portions are generous, and the flavors are hearty, making it a great place to experience local food at reasonable prices. Thank you Eric for care and good service

A mild tourist trap. The food doesn't taste great, and is extremely overpriced. The fries are definitely frozen fries. We had the Cordon Bleu and fried fish. Both felt like frozen food. The beer was decent though. The service was also a little scummy. The waiter asked us to tip after our meal. We asked if it was normal to tip? He said yes, usually 5-10%, so we complied. I'm guessing he asked us to because we were foreigners. There was a table of locals (at least they spoke the local language), and the waiter did not ask them for tip when they left. We've never been asked to tip at any other restaurant in Switzerland.
