It was fast and easy. They even let us do early check in. ||The room: we had a four bed room. It had two separate rooms and one bathroom. One side of the room faced the river and the other side faced an abandoned building that connected to the hotel. We didn’t feel safe at night leaving the windows open, so it was definitely hot in the room. My bed was firm. Pillows were good. The room was clean and had plenty of space. They also have plenty of places to plug in your electronics. ||Bathroom:|Small. The water always ran hot enough and the water pressure was great. They provided a hair dryer and a combo hair and body soap. ||Lounge: this is downstairs and it is perfect. It has a communal microwave and fridge. tea is available all day. They have couches and tables. ||Complimentary Breakfast: included scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereal, toast, fruit and cheese. The Aarburg Hotel & Café is a charming little spot in Interlaken, just a 15-minute walk from Interlaken West train station. While it’s tempting to take the shortcut, I’d recommend sticking to the main road, especially in snowy weather—it’s much easier for pulling luggage.Check-in was smooth and efficient, but do note there are no lifts in this cozy hotel. Carrying heavy bags up the narrow stairs was a bit of a workout, so pack light if you can.One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the coffee—it lived up to all the glowing Google reviews. Breakfast was simple but wholesome, with fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, and healthy toppings like dried berries, almonds, and chia seeds. The café is pet-friendly, so don’t be surprised to see a few furry friends around.The room itself was modest but comfortable. However, as the building is wooden, sounds tend to carry. We wondered if we were bothering other occupants but thankfully, no complaints! The location is peaceful, away from the main road, though the church bells that sound at intervals through the night was a little disturbing on the first night. With a supermarket near the train station for quick snacks and essentials, this hotel is both convenient and quiet. Perfect for couples looking for a laid-back stay.
