IL BUONGUSTAIO — Restaurant in Interlaken

Food was overall good. Ordered the Pizza Palatina. Waited a bit… saw people who came in after us get their food before us. However, I had simply ordered the Pizza Margherita with fries (Palatina) and its most definitely possible that I may have misspoken or something was misunderstood, but when my pizza came it was completely different, and was the Pizza Tarantina (I think that’s how you spell it) which is a pizza with seafood on it. My personal preference at least is I don’t like seafood. But I was shocked and disappointed when my simple cheese pizza turned into a seafood pizza. Worst of all? Pizza Palatina was 11- … the pizza I received was at least 20 something. When the server was asked about it, he was rude and stated that it was my fault because that was. It WAS the pizza I ordered. It’s as said earlier possible I made a mistake pronouncing, but the servers attitude to my honest mistake felt rude and unwarranted as if it were my fault, and said if wanted it remade we’d pay the extra to make the other pizza. Mind you I just wanted a small kids cheese...

Absolutely amazing and perfect. This meal was sooo good considering the price also. We ordered the prosciutto e funghi pizza, a Bolognese pasta, and for dessert their home-made tiramisu and each of them were just perfect.

The pizza had a well cooked crust which was fragrant and had a good, slightly chewy texture. There was also a very generous amount of mushrooms.

The Bolognese pasta was just 11/10. Firstly, the portion of minced meat added was so generous but not too much. The pasta was al dente as expected and the taste of the dish was very “comforting”. Simple yet perfectly delicious.

After our meal, we were recommended the tiramisu which we ordered, and I definitely did not regret the decision. The tiramisu was light, and the flavours were well balanced. Definitely a good dessert to end off the meal.

It was Sunday and I was craving pizza so I started looking online for an authentic Italian place in Interlaken. So finally I decided on this place since they seemed to specialize in pizza and the other places I was looking at did not (i.e., they had pizza, but it wasn't their focus offering). This place did not disappoint! I will absolutely be back next time I am in the Interlaken area. We tried two different pizzas - Pizza Della Dama & Pizza Sarda, and the Burrata E Crudo appetizer. Everything was really fresh and absolutely divine.
