Update: 2 years ago this place was amazing, but the last visit was just average. The chicken was dry as if it was fried way before serving, no sauce was there to make it more interesting. The garlic bread for 90 baht was seasoned with some sort of cheap sour cheese. The pork tenderloin seemed pre-marinated and had no meat taste. The blue cheese sauce smelled funny, I was doubtful about whether to eat it or not (not the usual blue cheese smell). The best thing from our plates was the fried potato with garlic. Service is still great, but the kitchen obviously deteriorated. Taking off one star from my old review, and keeping in mind it's difficult to find decent European food around. Maybe I had extremely high expectations based on my last visit, but this time I wasn't that impressed.
2 years ago: Great job! Our pork loin and Tom Kha were quite good. Coffee is not bad either. Restaurant presentation, very friendly staff, cozy seating, aircon, affordable prices (80 TBH for the soup, 185 for the pork with garnish). Highly recommended for great...
Read moreUnfortunately we have very unpleasent experience. My friend has ordered Tom Yum.She could not eat it because it was too salty and asked for change if possible. The owner or the cook ( we dont know who cause he did not introduce himself) has arrived to our table in anger and he said “there is nothing wrong with the soup, you can not order any other food anymore in this restaurant.” We were shocked in front of this arrogant behaviour. It is my friends 6th time in Thailand over 20 years and she likes Tom Yum, so it was not the first time. Moreover , it is not a right way to behave to a customer. He did not ask even why she did not eat the soup, or he did not explained about their policy which is accaptable of course if they dont have a returned food policy.
One star is not for the food, but for the very arrogant behavior. We...
Read moreIf you’re needing a break from Thai food, Drop In Restaurant serves the best western food we’ve had since we arrived in Thailand. The menu is a great variety of western and Thai and the chef does each cuisine equally well; pesto pasta, chicken schnitzel, pork loin in mushroom sauce, pork schnitzel, mango smoothie, ANY fruit smoothie. We return here repeatedly because the staff are friendly, accommodating, and the food is really good.
UPDATE: We just returned to Chiang Mai and had to satisfy a craving... pork loin with mushroom sauce, malibu chicken, and a mango fresh fruit shake. The crisp, fresh side salad lightly dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette gave a nice balance to the delicious meal. Thank you so...
