Ginzado – My Go-To Yakiniku Lunch Spot for Value and Flavor
Ginzado is hands down my favorite place for a yakiniku lunch in Bangkok. They offer great value with their Select Yakiniku Lunch Sets, starting from just 280++ THB. You can choose from various combos like:
280++ THB • A. Juicy Karubi Combo • B. Healthy Lean Meat Combo • C. Cube Cut Meat Combo
350++ THB • D. Yaki Shabu Combo • E. Yaki Suki Combo • X. Harami Combo
Each set includes one meat plate of your choice, plus free refills of: • Japanese rice • Side dishes (kimchi, salad, pickles, etc.) • Egg soup • And your choice of coffee, tea, or ice cream
It’s an amazing deal for yakiniku lovers, but keep in mind: you only get 1 hour per lunch session (e.g., 11:30–12:30, 12:30–13:30, etc.), and the kitchen starts closing around 15:00. So it’s not the best spot if you want to sit and chat for a long time.
The food quality is generally good — I eat here often. Some days the meat is more tender, other days a bit chewy, depending on the cut. The side dishes are consistently decent. They also sell raw Thai wagyu cuts to take home at surprisingly fair prices.
The restaurant is spacious with two floors, and the lunch crowd is always big. Personally, I prefer the downstairs seating — the ventilation is noticeably better.
🚗 Parking is the biggest issue. This branch isn’t near public transport, so most people drive, but parking is extremely limited — right up to the small driveway in front of the restaurant. During peak hours, especially when lunch rounds switch (12:30, 13:30), it can be chaotic. I’ve literally seen arguments over parking more than once.
To avoid this, I usually go around 14:00, when parking is easier. But the downside is you’ll have to eat quickly — around 15:10, staff will start calling last orders and cleaning up quite fast, which can feel rushed.
Still, with the value you get from their lunch sets, it’s easy to see why Ginzado remains so popular. If you time it right, it’s one of the best yakiniku lunch...

This yakiniku restaurant is famous with both local office workers 👔 and tourists 🩳 to Bangkok. There is a lot of competition amongst restaurants in this central area of Bangkok but Ginzado remains packed every day, even during the mid-week lunch service, offering a range of popular and tasty lunch specials from Monday to Friday.
I recommend the harami set and the karubi set from the lunch menu (why not bring a friend or colleague along for lunch, and share one of each set?). The beef 🐂🐃 is locally sourced 'Thai Wagyu' which has a pleasant rich flavour and is suitable for yakiniku-style grilling 🥩. Lunch sets come with rice 🍚, soup, salad🥗, kimchi and vegetable side dishes with complimentary refills. You can also finish off your meal with a choice of complimentary coffee ☕ or dessert 🍧.
All in, expect to pay around 400 THB per person for a substantial and tasty midweek lunch - great value 🤑 for what you are getting! Service is best described as quick and efficient.
There is also a butcher's shop with many different cuts of beef sold at a reasonable price - great for those of us who are home chefs 👩🏽🍳!
The restaurant has a free parking lot, and there are also guards who can help with parking if you come by car 🏎️. Normally the number of parking spaces is adequate, but if it is particularly busy you can park across the road at the St James Hotel instead (50 THB per hour charge).
Reservations strongly recommended as this is a popular restaurant. Normally it is ok to call ☎️ 2 or 3 days in advance to make a...
Read moreI had lunch at Ginzado, Sukhumvit 26. One of our group member arrived slightly late so we started eating a bit late as well. Soon after we placed a second round of order, a staff came up to us with a bill, telling us we have until 12:30 to leave the table which was just 2 minutes before telling us. We still havent received the order we placed. When we went to ask the staff what we can do for the order that we made and didnt eat yet, the staff just told us to just eat and go, not giving us any practical solution. The staff's tone and phrase was similar to that of "just do your job to eat and go out", and we find this an utterly disgusting behaviour. We could not believe the kind of attitude the staff showed us and we swore we would never come to this branch. Please take this as a serious issue and train your staff correctly so that no other customers have to experience such foul incidents. We understand that we also made the mistake of running over time, but this does not validate the action that your staff took. She should have given us a proper solution, either by cancelling the order that hasnt come, inform us the time limit at least 15 minutes before the deadline or even suggest us to take the meat away. Rather than such reasonable answers, the staff chose to act rude and defile our mood and time at the restaurant.
This is a fair warning as a customer who would like to continue eating at this restaurant and support the business. Please take this matter seriously and train the staff...
