Again, I look at Pizza from the perspective of a good old NY Pizza and this is part of my Pizza hunt in Bangkok. If you are American and reading this, you will relate. This place is easy to find, near the Kiwi Bar and Bamboo Massage on Sukhmamvit Soi 8 right near Nana BTS. It is small with some outside tables and some inside tables, no fancy tablecloths and linen napkins, just a Thai style place. It is immaculately clean and they give you real paper napkins. The staff was friendly, attentive and spoke English. They use a Woodfired oven. They have a good Beer selection plus Aqua Panna (one of my favs, even at 90B a bottle). Now to the Pizza. I had a Ham and Mushroom. The size would be classified as "small" in the USA, the cost was 320 baht so fair priced for Bangkok. The ham was flavourful and the mushrooms sweet. The sauce was superb, I spiced it up with a bit of red pepper and salt, but it was an excellent pizza sauce regardless. The crust was magnificent, sweet and paper thin yet still solid enough to hold and fold, perfectly done. The cheese was excellent and clearly hi grade but skimpy, for those of us wanting those big dollops of oozing USA Mozzarella cheese, nope, not here. However the mushrooms and ham covered the pizza, so I think its a matter of style. Overall an excellent pizza experience, I give it 5 stars only because I cant take a half off for skimpy cheese. But again, you Americans know what I mean. I will return, they have some nice looking Pizzas and I am told everything here is excellent. When you need a break from Thai food, this is a good choice as it is reasonably priced and a bit cheaper than the competition in the area. Read moreDON'T LET THE REVIEWS FOOL YOU. They're horrendous. I ordered via grab app. And after making me wait nearly 2 hours they cancel my order because " no delivery driver available". I guarantee you this money grubbing pizza shop never made the food to begin with because they wouldn't let it go to waste.... There are so many ways you could've fixed the situation. Like just paying for a delivery driver separately from any app. Or telling me it's going to be a bit longer.... Or making the order quickly to begin with so that way you would've had over an hour to find a driver. And then I re-order and pay for expedited, it still comes late, and instead of perhaps, throwing in something complementary for the inconvenience. They barely give me mozzarella cheese on my pizza when I literally paid extra to have additional. What’s crazy is I just started looking up reviews and read similar problems.. No extra cheese even though paid for, food comes cold (same for mine)… final verdict: "if inconsiderate was...
Read moreNot sure about the comment under mine. Restaurants do not allow people to bring their own food and drink. Restaurants sell their own products. Just because a place might not have what a customer wants, does not give anyone privilege to bring their own food or drink.
You cannot bring your own beer into a bar, your own burger into McDonald's, etc.
Pizza and service at Vesuvio is great.
The comment under mine from Samson No Delilah is both bizarre and wrong. The images are of Vesuvio Pizza, located in the first alley off Soi 8 when walking south. Of course the signs that say "Vesuvio" are kind of a giveaway that the images are Vesuvio.
Opinions may vary, of course, but Vesuvio Pizza proudly serves, inter alia, the vast majority of Italian expats in Bangkok, which would seem to be a Seal of Approval.
The other pizza restaurant is located in the second alley south on Soi 8, opposite Lolita BJ bar. That is not our...
