We are regular customers of the restaurant and enjoy the food quality and service. However our experience today was different. We ordered a steak (our third time) and instead of ordering the chateaubriand today we decided to try the wagyu ribeye. The picture on the menu showed the dish which is a thick cut of steak on a stone plate served with sea salt. There was no other description of the dish except for the picture and 4 options of beef so our expectation was to be served the same dish as always just ribeye. The waitress brought over a completely different dish which was cut into thin pieces like yakiniku. We asked to see the manager to change it to the dish we expected. The manager not only was rude but said that he cannot make it for us or change it. He obviously did not want to lose face even if the menu was extremely misleading. We felt bad for our waitress who was going to be made responsible for the expense which is high for her so we ended up returning the dish and paying for it anyway. No apologies - nothing from the manager. Completely disappointed and will never return again. We normally spend 500-600 USD for lunch and the manager was willing to trade our regular business for a 1,500 baht (40USD) steak....
Read moreGood points first; all the food was good to great and the staff does try to make an effort to speak Japanese and treat you nicely. My personal recommendation would be the Matcha Tonyu Pudding for dessert, which was simply amazing. The place itself is quiet and clean. Now why I cannot give it 5 stars even though the food was pretty good; prices are quite high and I could recommend a few places that are cheaper with the same quality or better. Especially the 1200 THB for the pork shabu shabu was steep. It is not a lot and the pork wasn't really the best ... And we tried to order one of the courses that they have on the last page of their menu, but those you have to order a day in advance... At the end they said we can order them but only with Nabe, not with Shabu Shabu ... It was very weird and we just ordered the contents one by one ... Not sure what that was all about. And the last point was that the waiters sometimes talked behind out backs or yelled stuff at each other which took us a bit out of the moment
Overall good food but in my opinion too...
Read moreI stumbled apon this place by accident while.walking through the soi to go to 7-11. It'a Japanese retaurant situated in the Hansar Bangkok Hotel. The place is nice and quiet with a bar on the ground floor and tables on the aecond floor.
We went there for 2 people and the food was very amazing, We had a couple of hand rolls, one Akami and one Tempura, both were really good. The fish and shrimp was fresh! The main course was Buta Katsu Teishoku and Aka Shoyu Ramen.
The service was also good, the waitress was very attentative of every step of our meal.
The place is really nice from the crowds and a different vibes from all the normal Japanese restaurants. I would...
