A Gastronomic Extravaganza - Zuma Bangkok: Where Culinary Delights Take Center Stage
Every aspect of my meal, from the appetizers to the drinks and dessert, surpassed my expectations and left me in awe of Zuma's culinary prowess.
To begin with, the edamame at Zuma Bangkok was a simple yet delightful way to kick off the meal. The steamed soybeans were perfectly seasoned, offering a satisfying crunch with a burst of flavor. It served as an excellent palate cleanser, preparing me for the gastronomic journey that lay ahead.
The tempura sushi was an absolute revelation. The combination of crispy tempura batter, fresh shrimps, and perfectly seasoned rice created a harmonious symphony of textures and flavors. Each bite was a delightful fusion of crunch and melt-in-your-mouth goodness, leaving me craving for more.
The deep-fried soft shell crab was a standout dish that showcased Zuma's expertise in preparing seafood. The crab was delicately fried to perfection, resulting in a crispy exterior while maintaining its succulent and flavorful interior. The accompanying dipping sauce provided a tangy complement that enhanced the overall experience.
The lamb cutlets were a true testament to Zuma's mastery of meat. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the tender and juicy lamb was seasoned impeccably, allowing the natural flavors to shine. Each bite was a delightful explosion of savory goodness, leaving me completely satisfied.
The drinks at Zuma Bangkok were equally impressive. The virgin passion fruit mojito was a refreshing and vibrant concoction. The balance of sweet and tangy flavors, coupled with the aromatic mint, made it the perfect accompaniment to the meal. It was a non-alcoholic beverage that didn't compromise on taste or creativity.
Finally, the cheesecake was a delightful conclusion to the culinary journey. The velvety smooth texture, combined with the perfect balance of sweetness, made it a truly indulgent treat. It was a delectable way to end the meal on a high note.
Beyond the exceptional food and drinks, Zuma Bangkok exudes an ambiance of elegance and sophistication. The stylish decor, warm lighting, and attentive service create an atmosphere that is both inviting and luxurious. The staff members were knowledgeable, accommodating, and added an extra touch of hospitality to the overall experience.
In conclusion, Zuma Bangkok is a culinary haven that sets the bar high for exceptional dining experiences. The impeccable execution of each dish, the tantalizing flavors, and the attention to detail in every aspect of the meal make it a true gastronomic extravaganza. Read moreI’d give it 3.7 stars out of 5 just to be clear. My partner and I stayed at the St Regis and we have titanium bonvoy member status. At time of check in, we were informed by the hotel staff that all spendings on site are 20% off which we immediately went to Zuma for dinner. We went with the premium Omakase option on the menu and it is clear that the chef takes great pride of his creations. Most of the dishes are outstandingly tasty with clearly high quality/ultra fresh ingredients. (Might I point out a few things that I did not agree, perhaps this can help you save some $$$ too). The roasted Hokkaido scallop with Uni was one of the dish that I most looked forward to, but they just don’t go together. The scallops are grill to perfection, you can even taste the fire/flame in your mouth. However, it makes the sea urchin vinegary to the point both of us wonder maybe the sea urchin had already gone bad. The scampi and kataifi was intriguing because unlike the conventional tempura, the Mediterranean method of creating the dish is very fresh on the mind and to the eye. But, kataifi is very thick and heavy, it over power’s the scampi to the point you cannot even taste/nor find that shrimp in there.😂 The most disappointing dish of the evening is the dessert platter (at least that’s what says on the menu). It was a fruit platter with 2 scopes of sorbet. Not a dessert platter for one, nothing artisanal, fruits are not more outstanding than anything you find on Thai streets. Yet pricing is definitely many time higher than what you get on the streets. When we asked for the bill, the 20% off was not reflected on the invoice. One person (looks like a manager, told our waitress they do not honour bonvoy titanium member discounts, they only give the discount to residents, meaning you have to own an unit at any St Regis residences. It is totally ok. But he did so standing right beside our table, not bothered to even greet or look at us; just passing on his command to the waitress so she can repeat it to us again……… (how do you guys think or deal about the situation if you ever run into one). Then left with an annoyed look.
Also through out dinner service, you realize that manager goes over to about every table trying to make an effort, but he zoomed by us many times, at one point almost kicked my chair and not a single word.
Total bill was slightly under 15000 Baht/North of $400 USD
