Guilty Restaurant Bangkok: An Honest Review
Stepping into Guilty Restaurant in Bangkok, I was greeted by a lovely atmosphere that immediately set a warm and inviting tone. The combination of nice music, tasteful paintings, and interactive artwork creates a vibrant ambiance. The dim lighting paired with the artwork gives the illusion of a lively buzz, even though there were only two tables occupied in my area.
The staff initially made a positive impression. The waitress was attentive, offering thoughtful menu recommendations. However, with the restaurant being quiet, I couldn’t help but feel overly watched, which detracted slightly from the experience. The manager, while present, remained silent and didn’t engage with diners, which felt like a missed opportunity to elevate the customer experience.
For starters, the cornbread with miso butter was disappointing. The butter was hard to spread, and the cornbread itself was dry and lacking in flavor. It didn’t set the tone I was hoping for. The bone marrow tacos showed some promise with decent flavors, but the cold tortillas and beef made the dish feel underwhelming and far from fresh.
The pork belly, on the other hand, was the highlight of the meal. Juicy and perfectly seasoned, it delivered the exact flavors I was craving, with a balanced spice that complemented the dish beautifully. Unfortunately, the Mexican red rice served alongside it was a complete letdown—bland, slightly undercooked, and devoid of any real flavor. It felt like an afterthought on the plate.
At 850 baht for the pork belly, the dish was tasty, but the value didn’t quite match the price. Overall, paying 2000 baht for the entire meal left me feeling unsatisfied. While the pork belly was enjoyable, it didn’t stand out enough to justify the cost, especially in a city where fantastic pork dishes are abundant.
Guilty Restaurant might be better suited for a larger group (six or more) where you can share and sample a variety of dishes. Perhaps visiting on a quiet Wednesday night affected the quality, but for a place I’d been anticipating for weeks, the overall experience left me disappointed. Though the ambiance is charming, and the pork belly is commendable, the lackluster sides, inconsistent execution, and steep pricing make it unlikely...

Loved the entire experience! Mexican and Peruvian fusion cuisine… spectacular 😋😘 The jicama salad - was so delicious 😋 I didn’t want to stop eating it and my friend didn’t either! The other dish in not sure why it was called but it had raw fish with the out of this world sauce which we couldn’t get enough of that scrumptious sauce … it was an appetizer that had a fish starting with h!! It’s the photo with the tortilla chips in it!
The wagyu beef tacos 🌮 were not anything to write home about and were a bit of a disappointment as the other 2 dishes were brilliant!! The tacos 🌮 lack in flavour and pizazz!!
The impeccable service and attending was outstanding!
I loved the ambiance, music and of course the company I was with!!
We also ordered a bottle of red which complimented the entire meal altogether!!
I will definitely be back ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I didn’t feel GUILTY at all eating here 😁😁😘😘

Read moreTried the 4 course lunch set. One could choose from the options in the set to form 2 starters, 1 main course and a dessert.
Selected the crab croquette and pork belly salad to start, wagyu picanha as the mains and the banana dessert. Additionally, also tried one of the cocktail.
Staff would serve the corn bread and guacamole while waiting for the starters.
Corn bread was more crumbly than expected. Tasted good with the miso butter, and with all condiments combined (sea salt, herb and spicy flake). Guacamole was of a healthy flavour.
Loved the pork belly salad. The thinly sliced meat was flavourful with melt-in-your-mouth texture. Very generous amount of salad dressing (strong flavours) and the drink came in handy to refresh the palate.
The wagyu picanha was a beautiful medium rare. Served with chimichurri and the reddish sauce was made of small peppers (aji peppers, perhaps?). The dish also came with a battered deep fried baby corn and roasted garlic. Wished there were more chimichurri and the heat from the small peppers sauce was a gradual build-up.
Loved the banana dessert that was served with a small coconut ice cream. The banana 'skin' was made of white chocolate.
Thank you Saifah and Jade for taking care...
