We booked here for our group of 6 for our final dinner in Bangkok before traveling home. The ladies put on nice dresses and we showed up only to be rudely told they would not allow us in and were cancelling our reservation due to my wife having open toe shoes.
First of all, if you’re going to have such a stupid policy in a climate like Bangkok, then at least inform your guests either upon booking or in the cute little email you receive after booking. Having eaten at fine dining restaurants all over the world, we know how to follow a dress code.
Second, perhaps you could treat people a little nicer, unlike how my wife and her friend were was treated when they tried to check us in. You’re not an exclusive dining experience, you’re a hotel restaurant that was nowhere near fully booked. By far the rudest we have ever been treated in Thailand, with the hostess being indifferent and almost mocking us. We could have easily bought some shoes nearby but after that type of customer service, no thank you. We loved everything about Bangkok except this pretentious joke of a restaurant, avoid this place unless you enjoy being treated poorly. Instead give your money to a family establishment that has some gratitude and appreciation for your business, there are plenty of...
Read moreNormally we would not even consider Thai restaurants inside leading hotels in Bangkok. Dishes are prepared for western palette. Not only are they unauthentic, but most of the subtle nuances of traditional Thai dishes are banished in the belief that they would turn western diners off. Because the Bangkok traffic jam has gotten so bad and so intolerable, we did not want to spend hours stuck in traffic just for a meal. So our host chose this restaurant. Our host being a very knowledgeable Thai gourmet, who has instructed me on the glories of Thai cuisine, was also under some misgivings. But the food turned out to be excellent even by Thai standards. Thai people still would not come here because they can get the same or better Thai cooking outside of tourist environments, and the price is a big deal. Why pay double or triple? Well, you pay this amount for the tranquitiy of the restaurant, excellent service to international standards, and cleaniness. Interior decorations and service at authentic Thai restaurants outside are not their...
Read moreThis restaurant was such a horrible experience. Was my first time there and will be my last time. Went there with eatigo 20% discount at 930pm. 4 out of 5 dishes including the rice were cold lol. The Tom yum gon soup was just warm enough to eat. The food were inedible.
Told a waitress the food was cold and asked them to heat it up. They didn’t react very well to that and atitude wasn’t very nice. Didn’t even say sorry. Grudgedly took the food back. Came back in just a few minutes later with warm food and rice with a smile and changed attitude. Maybe they realized they work in a 5 star hotel restaurant after all.
Then a waitress suddenly came to change my glass of water and poured my water in the sink and pour a new glass. We weren’t sure why at all lol.
When the bill came. They charged us for a big bottle of still water 280 baht; small bottle of sparkling water 190 baht. This maybe the most expensive we’ve ever had. Lol. Makes you wonder why in the middle of my meal the waitress came to change my...
