Phed Phed POP central chidlom! Get ready for a fiery fiesta in your mouth, because this place is all about the "phed" (spicy) and the "pop" (deliciousness) 🌶️💥. Imagine a place where the flavors are as bold as a Bangkok tuk-tuk ride, the spices are as exciting as a Thai kickboxing match, and the atmosphere is as lively as a street food festival 🎉🇹🇭. Picture yourself diving into a bowl of something that's so spicy, it'll make you sweat in places you didn't even know you could sweat 🥵😅. But don't worry, it's a good kind of pain, the kind that makes you feel alive and invigorated 💪. It's a place where you can feel like you're starring in your own food adventure movie. However, let’s be honest, sometimes "spicy Thai food" can feel a bit like a real-life game of "how much can you handle?", where you're testing your limits and wondering if you should have ordered that extra glass of milk 🥛😬. And while the food is undeniably amazing, you might also find yourself questioning your ability to resist the urge to order everything on the menu, especially if you're a spice addict like me 🔥❤️. Overall, Phed Phed POP central chidlom sounds like a must-visit for anyone craving a truly authentic and flavorful Thai dining experience. It's the kind of place where you can taste the passion and skill of the chef in every bite, even if you sometimes feel like you’re participating in a synchronized spice-tolerance test with a hundred...
Read morePhed Phed POP at this branch is probably the most convenient one. It’s located in the food zone that connects Central Chidlom and Central Embassy, with many other well-known restaurants nearby. The space is clean, has plenty of seating, and it’s easy to park at either mall.
Even though the restaurant is known for spicy dishes (true to the name “Phed Phed”), there are still options for those who prefer milder flavors. The menu is diverse and includes seasonal specials like Som Tum with mangosteen or Marian plum – fresh, high-quality fruits that are specially selected.
The food here is bold, spicy, and full of flavor. Some of my personal favorites include: • “Nam Tuam” Pork Larb (a spicy pork salad with extra sauce) • Strawberry Som Tum • Spicy Salmon Salad with Fish Sauce • Fried Chicken Wings with Fish Sauce • Spicy WAI WAI Instant Noodles with Grilled Pork Neck / Siam Style • Som Tum with Corn and Shrimp Paste
Prices here are a bit on the higher side for each dish, but you definitely get what you pay for — the ingredients are fresh, carefully selected, and of high quality.

Read moreMy favourite new discovery in Bangkok. Wanted to go to the original Phed Phed Bistro, but didn’t want to spend hours taking a taxi out and queuing in the hot sun. So instead, we tried out the branch in this centrally located food court.
The strawberry and mangosteen salads were unlike any Thai salads I’ve had before. It was like a marriage between Singaporean rojak and the common som tum. I’d order the fruit salads again when (not if) I return. The fried pork jowl was outstanding as well, and we quickly wiped the plate clean. Prawns in the raw prawn salad were fresh and had no off-smells.
My main gripe with the place is that the food can be pretty salty. But the simple solution is to just eat more rice. Which is easy, when food...
