This is an open concept restaurant in the frontage on level 3 of the new Gaysorn Amarin mall. Overall looks good, with nice deco and inviting seating outdoors. That's probably the only positive part about the restaurant. Practically speaking, the place is too warm to have a drink anytime from noon to evening. It gets the direct afternoon sun unless you sit inwards the restaurant with no view.
They serve the usual cocktails and a small selection of wine at hotel prices. I was there for pre dinner drinks as well as dinner. Sitting in the outdoor area facing the BTS, it was really warm and hot with the Bangkok weather. The air cooler works periodically and they had to come switch it back on at least four times when we were there. We were perspiring the whole time we were there from 5pm. Food wise, we couldn't really make out what is their speciality.. Its a combination of western, spanish and asian. Because nothing looks really fantastic, we just settle for an easy Ceasar salad and club sandwich to start off. The salad came with very little dressing and the Club sandwich was average at best. As a restaurant, I would rate it 3 stars at best and there are much better outdoor restaurants nearby with much better food in a more comfortable setting.
So why did I give it one star? The real reason why we decided to pick the restaurant was because I wanted to have a cigar smoke pre dinner and I asked if they allowed. They said yes and directed us to a table at the end of the restaurant, which makes sense. I lighted up proceeded to have our drinks. No issues from anyone as the restaurant was relatively quiet. After we ordered dinner, I was halfway through my cigar and one manager came to mention to me that cigars are not allowed. I was surprised as many other staff came to serve us previously and no one mentioned it to me. Clearly the staff were not well trained on the policy or maybe the manager was just being difficult. So I had to put out my cigar and endure the mediocre food and hot weather without the pleasure of my cigar. Anyone who really smokes a good cigar know that it is not practical to kill a cigar halfway and take it elsewhere to smoke. Given that my cigar cost more than double of our meal and drinks there, obviously I am not happy with the sudden change of rules. Hence one star...
Read moreReally bad experience on the weekend, visited the restaurant on weekend lunch time.
Bad service with Bad manner, always just want to takecare foreigner customer. we were sitting insdie and orders 4 plates of food. Some dish was ok, some was tasteless and need more salt and ketchup. Tried to raise hand to get attention from staffs more than 7 times. No one was interested.
Asked one staff for a ketchup for my Truffle Omelet and had towait more than 10 minutes. I decided to walk to staff at the bar and asked if I couldnt pick up a ketchup at the service station myself as I waited for too long. Got an answer from a lady in black jacket maybe supervisor or assist manager that I should ask from a staff. I said I tried to get attention more than 7-8 times and already noticed and told your staff but no one care.
Then she answered "We are too busy" , I'm sorry to say I came here to pay at the your place and I am not suppose to hear any kind of this answer. Without any apologize, she ignored. Such a bad experience. And I'm sorry to say the lady always show bad and unproper face manners. If you want to keep this place alive, I would recommend to replace her.
We also wanted to order a bottle of wine, a guy came and HAVE 0 KNOWLEDGE about wine, he couldn't recommend any and said something useful. After consideration, we ordered a bottle of Chardonnay.... then he came back like a nother 5 mins and said its out of stock (Which he should know at first and tell us), anyway we change my mind and ordered a bottle of Riesling.
After wait for another 15 minuted a new lady came and said to me again that the Chardonnay is out of stock. I told her we knew and already order another bottles which I had point the name on the wine list to her myself that I want this Riesling. After 10 minutes... with we very slow preparation (not much customer anyway)
Then after waiting the wine came..... with wrong bottle... Pouilly fumé (Sauvignon Blanc) came instead of the Riesling we ordered. We were very angry as we have been waiting for so long. With out proper apologize, the lady had not shown up to our table again.
Please arrange some hoe to fix the service standard in your place, also the staffs manner which is...
Read moreRaynue is a chic bar at Amarin Gaysorn, offering a wide selection of wines, whiskeys, and cognacs, primarily served by the glass. The atmosphere is inviting, with a captivating panoramic view of central Bangkok, providing a unique setting despite not being on a high floor. It’s a great spot for a relaxed evening, whether with friends or on a casual date.
The drink menu focuses on by-the-glass options, perfect for those looking to sample different varieties. However, if you’re interested in ordering a full bottle, you need to speak to the head bartender, which can be somewhat inconvenient. It would be more efficient if bottle prices were listed on the menu.
The service is generally satisfactory, with attentive staff who are ready to help. However, there can be some confusion with orders or billing, which could be improved for a smoother experience.
Overall, Raynue offers a pleasant experience with its good food, diverse drink selection, and relaxed ambiance. With minor adjustments to service and menu clarity, it could elevate its status as a top choice for a refined...
