Lunch Experience
Our recent visit to Cafe Wolseley left me with mixed feelings. The cafe was cozy, and we looked forward to a delightful lunch experience. However, the overall experience fell short of our expectations.
First, only three occupied tables were during lunch, which made the place feel almost deserted. This lack of diners affected the ambiance. The service was satisfactory, but it didn't stand out. It was just okay, not exceptional.
While the food itself was good, the presentation was a letdown. The dishes were relatively simple, bordering on plain, and lacked the finesse I hoped for in a cafe of this caliber. The taste was enjoyable, but the lack of effort in the presentation could have been better.
Added to my disappointment was that we had mentioned it was a birthday occasion when making the reservation, complete with the birthday person's name. However, the staff did not note the celebration - not even a tiny acknowledgment or a birthday wish. It left me wondering if they even paid attention to the details.
Despite the food being tasty, the lackluster presentation and the missed opportunity to make a birthday celebration special left us feeling underwhelmed. We truly wanted to enjoy a memorable lunch experience, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet our...
Read moreRoom to improve. This is a beautiful restaurant with classy table culture! There is a good wine list (with upmarket prices - wines by the glass a little cheaper), but the food is less expensive with very large portions. We couldn't really get on with the cuisine and the service. The bread and a refreshing towel were only brought after we had admonished them, in the middle of the starter. The bread was not a delight, difficult to chew. We got an excellent chicken soup, and an avocado-shrimp cocktail which we found tasteless and gluey. Not a pleasure, far too compact. I wanted to salt this a little, but the salt mill at the table was empty. Then we shared a portion of Coq au Vin. We had to ask three times for someone to bring us a spoon so we could share it. The chicken was cooked way too short, making it extremely tough. The chef could have easily determined that with a fork. For dessert we had a very good...

Decoration is very classic and our table was very comfortable It claims to be British Cuisine but in my (French) opinion, the menu is typically a French Brasserie menu (escargot, bearnaise sauce, eggs florentine,…) The food was very good (omelette, dorset crab, ribeye steak, soufflé) The ribeye was a little bit pricy (THB 2,800) but other dishes were raisonnable Service was perfect Complementary bread and salted butter were very appreciated
To summarize, I enjoyed very much my dining experience and I...
