I’ve been proven n Phuket for several months and have eaten at many restaurants. Butcher’s garden is the best restaurant we’ve eaten in for gourmet western-style food. Service is on point. Expedient and very welcoming.
They start you out with a plate of fresh baked bread. Although they bring out olive oil and balsamic vinegar, they’ll bring you butter if you ask.
For food, my wife and I started the beef tartar. It was excellent.
For main course, my wife had the picanha (a Brazilian style steak) and I had the 300 gram dry-aged T-bone steak.
The picanha was excellent. Juicy, delicious and cooked to perfection. The t-bone was good but since the 300 gram is quite thin, it wasn’t as juicy as the picanha.
So the picanha is a very solid choice. If you like thin cut steak, the 300 g t-bone is a good. But if you prefer thicker cuts and juicier, the picanha is a better choice.Maybe the 500 gram is a better option but can’t comment on it as I didn’t try it.
For desert, we had the flourless chocolate cake. And WOW...this was to die for. Definitely a must if you’re into these types of desserts.
I’m from Miami Beach and have eaten in all the top steak houses there. Prime 112, Forge, etc and Butcher’s garden could easily compete with any place there on food quality. And you’ll never get service in Miami like you get at Butcher’s Garden.
Overall, it’s an amazing dining experience with excellent food and top-notch service.
The winners food-wise were beef tartar, picanha steak, and the deliciously decadent flourless chocolate cake.
We’ll be coming here a few more times before we leave.
They have Thai options as well that look delicious but can’t comment on them as I haven’t tried them yet.
That’ll...
Read moreOn our first visit I gave this restaurant 5 stars, but as usual with restaurants in Thailand nothing is consisten. I have included my original review in the end of this text.
On our second visit we saw the chef put his finger TWICE in our mashed potatos, we let it slide because we have seen chefs on TV do that many times 😉 and the food tasted good.
But on our third (and last by choice) visit nothing feelt good, the staff was disorganised and NOTHING tasted like before. We both ordered same type of meat medium well but one piece came in medium and the other one rare. To the restaurants defence on the meat we did not say anything because we were already annoyed over the staff and we had plans after dinner and could not be bothered to let them try to save this wreck. One of the staff came by so quickly to ask how the food was before my girlfriend even have hade the time to start cutting the meat and I had barely had the chance of taking my first bite...embarrassing behavior. The salt and pepper on the photo was never provided on our last visit and I had to ask for our steak knifes AFTER the food was served. On all occasions the restaurant was almost empty but plenty of staff.
ORIGINAL 5-STAR REVIEW: ”Friendly staff with good English skills. Our meat was cooked just the way we ordered it, perfect.😋 The roasted potatoes had been in the oven for maybe a minute too long...
Read moreThis was the last restaurant we ate at before we left Phuket and it was well worth it. If you are looking for a great steak in Phuket, this is your place. Tasted just like in the States. I would equate this to the chef and the western style menu. Other places might serve western style menus, but the chef may not know the style unfortunately. After having a terrible steak at our 5 star hotel the night before, this was far superior. I chose a 7 oz beef filet and the sauces were awesome. I only gave 4 stars and possibly would give 3.5 if available because of the service. My husband ordered the wagyu beef burger and wine pairing. He never got his wine. We also weren't asked after the food was out if everything was fine. If we were, the waitress would have seen that we both needed another drink. I find the service in Phuket is far different from US and we learned to ask for our check immediately after they came to clear. This restaurant ALMOST has really great service in terms of finer dining with removing and replacing glasses and silverware for the next courses; they just need either more servers or more attentiveness. Steps of service are lacking as I would know, I worked in a high end...
