I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mood Cafe in Phuket, and I must say, the experience was truly delightful. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff and shown to our table.
We started off with the Strawberry Soda and the Dirty Coffee (Cold). The Strawberry Soda was a refreshing and perfectly balanced blend of sweet and tangy flavors, with just the right amount of carbonation. The Dirty Coffee was a strong and rich brew that was perfectly chilled and had just the right amount of cream to balance out the bitterness.
For our main course, we ordered the Omelette with sourdough bread, guacamole, and ham slices, as well as the Hokkien Noodles. The Omelette was cooked to perfection, with fluffy eggs that were packed full of flavor thanks to the generous amount of ham slices and creamy guacamole. The sourdough bread was a pleasant surprise and complemented the omelette perfectly with its slightly tangy flavor and crispy crust.
The Hokkien Noodles were equally impressive, with a delicious blend of flavors and textures that left us wanting more. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sauce had just the right balance of sweet and savory flavors, with a hint of spice that added a nice kick to the dish.
Overall, the food at Mood Cafe was outstanding, and the service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for delicious food, great coffee, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The best part is the pricing seemed very fair and resonable compared to most cafes around Phuket, especially considering the quality, quantity and taste of food they're providing, it's definitely worth more than you pay for! Definitely...
Read moreNice outside seating area with a pleasant atmosphere, but the food is way overpriced and really low quality. I ordered the eggs and bacon on toast and the bacon was cold and dry, almost as if it was the leftover bacon from the hotel breakfast. The chicken and avocado sandwich was dry, bland and the chicken was dry and old. The only flavor was a cheap tasting mayonnaise.
I also ordered the pad krapao which was way spicier than average and also didn’t taste like it had been freshly cooked but probably microwaved. It left me with a bad stomach.
The drinks are decent but I tried ordering fresh watermelon juice at 10:00 am and was told “watermelon finished”… in Phuket!! So she offered “freshly squeezed” orange but it tasted like it was just a bottle of juice from 7/11 but 10x more expensive
Service is shockingly bad. The bell on the table doesn’t work. You have to scream for them to bring menus and they take so long to clean previous customers’ mess and to clean the table. We asked for our table to be cleaned three times and we were ignored. We asked for cutlery and the waitress just threw a handful of forks and knives on our (dirty) table. No napkins, no condiments… paying the bill means standing up and chasing the waitress. The staff seem friendly but stressed and overworked. They try their best but the service is slow even when the cafe is not busy.
Also, if I’m waiting 15 minutes for my coffee and I’ve already eaten my breakfast, it is so infuriating and unprofessional if a couple of tourists enter and ask for a quick coffee to takeaway and are immediately served while guests having lunch and made to wait.
I wouldn’t recommend at all unless you’re in the area and desperate for a cold drink (just no fresh fruit shakes...
