I recently visited this highly anticipated bar with a group of friends, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. While we were intrigued by its reputation as an upscale establishment, our visit quickly turned into a regretful and overpriced experience.
To begin with, the price we paid for a cocktail was exorbitant. At 50€, we had high expectations for a drink that would truly impress our taste buds. However, the cocktail we received was subpar at best. It lacked the finesse and craftsmanship one would expect at such a high-end bar. The flavor was underwhelming, and it left us questioning the value of what we had paid.
Furthermore, our entrance to the bar felt rushed and chaotic. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, we were immediately ushered into the bar area without even having the chance to explore the other bars available. It was disappointing not to have the opportunity to fully appreciate what this place had to offer. The lack of choice and exploration left us feeling confined and limited in our experience.
One of the key selling points advertised was the rooftop area, which promised stunning views. However, upon reaching the rooftop, we were sorely disappointed to find that the viewing angle was incredibly narrow, providing a mere 90°C view. It felt like a missed opportunity to showcase the beauty of the surroundings and left us feeling underwhelmed.
Given the hefty price tag, we expected a level of service and quality that would justify the cost. Regrettably, the bar failed to deliver on these fronts, leaving us feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. While the ambiance and decor were decent, they simply couldn't make up for the lackluster experience we had.
Overall, I cannot recommend this bar to others looking for a memorable and worthwhile evening. The high price for a mediocre cocktail, the rushed entrance, and the disappointing rooftop view all contributed to our overall dissatisfaction. With so many other bars to choose from in the area, I would advise exploring alternative options that offer better value for your money and a more enjoyable experience.

We were guests at the hotel & decided to experience the Sky Bar on our last light. We caught lift up & as soon as we exited we were greeted by staff who were friendly & eager to direct us to the top bar where the menu for a Champagne was 3600 B. We ordered 2 drinks & it took us a little time to comprehend that we had paid nearly $350 AUD for 2 drinks. We then had photos & were told that we could go down to the lower bar. The cost of the drinks here were less extortionate but still 670 B for a beer. This was where I bumped into the Manager of the Sky Bar who was having a discussion with a staff member. I asked him if I could offer some feed back. I told him that I was I felt that we had be deceived into purchasing extortionately priced drinks & dishonestly misguided by the Sky Bar. He apologised & virtually admitted to me that the staff direct the guests to the top bar 1st. It is understandable that you are in a unique location to have an experience in a special place but to intentionally extort & deceive guests is inexcusable. The Manager was apologetic & offered to pay for the 2 beers that were purchased at the lower bar which we accepted & were willing to accept.
The manager advised us that this was unacceptable and obviously the message had got misconstrued from his team. He then later admitted however that this was something they do quite often during the summer.
We decided to leave & went to settle our tab for the 2 previously purchase Champagnes to notice that there was an additional 10% Service Charge + 7% VAT = $60 AUD. The total came to 8475 B ($350AUD or €220). I then requested the Manager again. This is not acceptable & intentionally ripping guests off. We paid half & settled our bill. Please be aware of the inflated cost to this Sky Bar. I normally always check on reviews 1st but this time unfortunately did not & expected the reputation of a high profile hotel. The Sky Bar is amazing but there is no excuse for intensionally misguiding & deceiving guests at the cost of...
Read moreThe place is a rooftop near the river. So great views for sure.
The service staff are plentiful and great if a little overwhelming at some points (for example getting off the elevator and being greeted/ swamped by literally 20 staff members)
The real issue is the drinks range in price from $50/60 USD to $1000 USD. I have been to amazing bars in every continent, including speakeasy bars that only serve vintage spirits and NOTHING has approached the price point of this establishment (though, to be fair the menu and prices are posted online, so it wasn’t a surprise). The cocktails are good, but not that kind of good.
The area for drinks is a little corner outdoors with built in banquet seating. If not for the views (which oddly the seating requires you to face away from) the space would be very pedestrian indeed.
The service was friendly, but kind of odd. Like they wanted you to order everything as soon as you arrived, grab up the menu from you, and never check back again. Given the over staffing at the elevator lobby, they seemed a bit understaffed at the actual lounge.
BKK is repeat with rooftop bars, from splendid to terrible and there certainly are better options around
We did end up dining at Sirocco, a restaurant on the other side of the building, which was VERY good and a much more...
