Good food with compromised service.

The oven pizza was the best dish. We ordered half pesto and half pepperoni & bacon pizza. It were served warm with mild but satisfying taste. Mushroom pasta was creamy and flavorful. The blue cheese salad was pleasantly sweet and easy to eat too.

However, the tomato mozzarella salad was a disappointment. The tomato wasn't sweet at all. It could have helped if more balsamic vinegar was added. Although I appreciate the creativity of adding fresh basil and pesto to this dish, it was almost tasteless according to Thai people's palette.

Our Thai-style seafood pasta took a really long time to arrive and was served rather cold. We didn't bother ordering dessert since there was a big time gap between the serving of each dish and the yoghurt mixed fruit smoothie we ordered never came. (I told the waitress many times that it has yet to arrive and they just nodded. In the end I didn't have any water to drink throughout the whole meal. As the last dish already arrived and we were more than ready to leave, I told them we don't need the smoothie anymore.)

During the billing time, the owner came to apologize for the missing drink and asked if we enjoyed the meal. He was attentively listening to our feedback. So, I decided to give this place a 3 stars instead of a 2 stars.

Overall, not the most impressive first time experience. I recommend you coming during non-rush hours. Maybe late afternoon. That way, there will probably be less customers and hopefully all food will take less time to arrive and all your drink orders will come while you still have food to...

Mighty fine pizza... where'd you'd little expect it!

We've been wandering SE Asia for about three months. In Bangkok (ok, Krung Thep) for a couple of nights in transit & we're suddenly relishing familiar food. Found Ranee's on Google & reviews are very good.

Post dinner: reviews are WELL EARNED. It's pretty tough to source the requirements for a fine pizza in Thailand (or its neighbors) - we had a little side of olive oil that was just DELICIOUS (expected in Spain, Italy, or Greece, but here? Hat tip!). Crust perfectly formulated & cooked to just crisp on the bottom (where do you even BUY a pizza oven around here). Lastly, don't even get me started on cheese

.... never mind, since I did bring it up, SE Asia has SO many delicious cuisines; none built around cheese (that I know of); we've tried buying cheese a couple of places; your results may vary, but bleccchh. One wonders where to even source good quality cheeses hereabouts & where Ranee's gets them.

The upshot is fantastic ingredients (where the ones for pizza aren't easy to come by) & expertly prepared (where the skillset isn't exactly common). So, if you're jonesing for pizza, drop by Ranee's & enjoy a little taste of home (if you're from EU or most of North America); if you're from this part of the world, try GOOD pizza & see why so...

Such a lovely Italian restaurant! I’m not Italian so I can’t say how authentic it is, but my friends and I all agreed that every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the burrata salad. It was super creamy and perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the tomatoes. The pizzas were fantastic too, especially the Tartufo (truffle) pizza. It was rich, aromatic, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The prawn ravioli was another highlight; it was beautifully cooked, and the sauce was super tasty. We finished it in a minute!

The portion sizes are generous, so if you want to try several dishes, bring a few friends to share. The price may seem a bit higher than a regular meal, but the quality, taste, and portion size make it totally worth it. The restaurant has a cozy and charming atmosphere, with dim lighting, lovely décor, and relaxing background music that make the experience even more enjoyable.

I went for lunch on a weekday and it wasn’t crowded, which made the visit extra pleasant. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. I walked out feeling full, happy, and satisfied. This place is perfect for any occasion — whether it’s a date night, a family dinner, or a nice meal with friends....

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ranee's Bangkok, and it was an exceptional experience. The food was simply outstanding. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish, and although I can't recall their specific names, they were both excellent. The flavors were rich and authentic, and every bite was a delight. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. It was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The service was top-notch as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made our visit even more pleasant. To top it off, I've added some pictures of the incredible dishes we enjoyed. You can see for yourself the artistry that goes into their presentation. I can confidently say that Ranee's Bangkok is a hidden gem for Italian cuisine in the heart of Thailand. If you're looking for delicious Italian dishes served in a charming atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings. Overall, Ranee's Bangkok deserves a solid 5 stars, and I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates fine Italian dining and a delightful dining experience.
