A Delightful Culinary Experience at House of Medusa, Istanbul
We had an incredible dinner at the House of Medusa in Istanbul, and every dish we tried was a testament to the restaurant’s excellence.
We started with the soup of the day, a hearty and flavorful lentil soup, which was the perfect warm-up for the evening. For our mains, the Tavuk Şiş (Chicken Shish Kebab) was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The highlight, however, was the Bademli Kaymaklı Tavuk Yahni, a unique almond and cream-based chicken stew that was rich, aromatic, and absolutely delicious.
To end the meal, we indulged in Katmer, a flaky and sweet pastry filled with pistachios, served with Turkish coffee. Both were a match made in heaven, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness.
The ambiance was enchanting, with its cozy, historic vibe, and the staff were attentive and friendly. If you’re in Istanbul, House of Medusa is a must-visit for an authentic and memorable Turkish dining experience. Highly...
Read moreWe ordered, amongst other things, grilled sea bass. We really liked how they cook this fish in Istanbul. Usually they bring the whole fish with the bones inside. Yes, it’s bony but still delicious. This place, however, presented us with something that only remotely resembles the meal we ordered. It looked and tasted like a frozen fillet from a nearest supermarket that was fried on a frying pan. It was very dry and tasteless. We barely touched it. The waiter/owner tried to make a surprise face and asked us why we didn’t like it. We were quite open and said to him. He unconvincingly tried to replace this meal with something else but we didn’t want to try something as bad. In the end, obviously he didn’t take it out from the bill. Nor made any discount for...
Read moreFunky and quirky restaurant with two floors right in the heart of Sultanahmet. We were actually about to trek to another restaurant up near Galata Bridge but the rain forced us to stop in just after our sightseeing. The garden out front looked so inviting despite the horrid weather. Staff was friendly and the menu had lots of traditional Turkish dishes. We had a cozy table near the front windows and the server was attentive and friendly. I had the Iskender kebab and it was a large portion that tasted great. Loved the hospitality and delicious food. This place proves that there are great options right in the heart of Istanbul where you don't feel like you're getting ripped off as a tourist,...
