SAVE YOURSELF and find a more honest resto!!
The food we had was tasty; however, I personally don't think it was worth the price. At the beginning, just after sitting down, the waiter offered cold appetizers. When we asked if they were complimentary or on the menu (waiter said on the menu), we declined, saying we'd like to check out the menu first. The waiter walked away, muttering something in Turkish and looking annoyed (we should have left at that moment; it ruined our mood). We first ordered appetizers (fish soup and fish adana) and then for main dish we ordered a fish that was not in season, so the same waiter recommended another fish, priced at 3,300 TL per kilo (we should have declined). The fish was sufficient for two people, but I don't believe it weighed 1.2 kg, considering the head was quite large with pea size meat in it. In the end, we paid 6,534 TL (for 1 glass of wine (yes a glass not even a bottle), 1 coke, 2 beers, 2 appetizers, and 1 main dishfor two).
So here's my tip: Don't ask for recommendations, and if possible, look for another restaurant if you're staying on the neighbourhood. There are plenty of restaurants nearby offering similar menus but much tastier and much much worth the price, with complimentary baklava and Turkish tea and no annoying pushy waiter/s and a more honest restaurant. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTO, unless you have a lot of...
Read morePoor service! Bad habits die hard! The waiters want to serve you everything that comes to mind! You somehow feel compelled to eat faster to clear the meal. For a reserved meal and with a surprise at the end (a cake) I can say that it was a total failure! Not only did the fish smell like "barbecue" and not a spice at all, the meal was banal. The payment note (written on the waiter's paper) was astronomical. I paid for the other four previous meals in the tourist area, Sultanahmet. Upset that he didn't fool me, the waiter "forgot" about the cake, serving us "from home" - an expression said mockingly, slices of watermelon ... I let them serve them with his colleagues ...He tried to prove to me that € 200 did not cover the bill, in fact the waiter should have brought a residue of over 300 Turkish lira ... He stubbornly used the word "my friend." He was telling me about the course applied in the restaurant ??? It's not worth the effort to go there, the panorama, in fact, the night is non-existent, you only see some cars parked next to it and the lights over the Bosphorus ... Kennedy CD ... a promenade lighthouse! Don't go unless you have too much money and you don't know where to spend them! There are seafood restaurants in the Sultanahmet area, where the smell of fried fish tempts you and where the service is...
Read moreWe came recommended by a tourist guide. (Note: we are four people) At first, there was no problem at all, good service, food was acceptable, (although servings were scarce), and beautiful location. However, we saw on google maps that the prices per person were around 30€, we payed 7,700 liras (240€ ish) for 3 appetizers (small), 1 salad, 1 ration of squid (again, small) and sea bream (they said 900g, but I doubt this). Being from Spain, we have never eaten this amount and payed 240€. Never. And surely, 60€ is quite a bit more than the 30€ indicated in Google Maps. To top that off, there were problems with the dataphone (at first did not know why), then the waiter took, furiously, our card without asking us, and went to charge 3,850 liras. At this point we were seriously annoyed, we were paying 60€/person, and the waiter starts to make 2 charges of 3,850 liras (divide 7700/2) We first told him to stop taking our card without permission, and explain what is this with two charges. HE TOLD US THE RESTAURANT HAS A LIMIT TO WHAT CAN BE CHARGED THROUGH CARD. Have you ever seen this anywhere? I have not. It was a very uncomfortable and enfuriating situation. Never had it occurred to me. I DO...
