This place is probably a death trap. Check this out: three guys out, standing by the bar. Music is blasting at 109 db(yes, I measured it). Basically impossible to have a talk or order anything from the bar without shouting your lungs out. We order two draft beers, one vodka soda and three tequila shots.
The bartender walks to the other end of the bar and grabs a orange bottle and starts pouring what we expect to be tequila.
We lift the glasses and drink the shot, as one would do with tequila. Immediately weāre surprised by its odd Flavour and smell. It tastes like hand sanitizer with a sweet odor. We know it isnāt tequila so we call the bar tender over. Politely ask him what it was and tell him that it definitely wasnāt tequila.
This pisses him off immediately and the next thing he does is to gather the other bartenders with a very aggressive attitude while telling us that it definitely was a ārealā tequila. He now opens up a freezer just next to where heās standing and pulls out a Olmeca Tequila. When we address the fact that it wasnāt the same bottle -but he doesnāt really give much for that, insisting it was the same bottle as previously (remember the orange bottle from the end of the bar?).
Later I decide to give them the benefit of the doubt and order three tequilas. But this time I say with sarcasm āand I want the real tequila this timeā. His reaction caught me completely off guard. He refuses to serve me anything this time and ask us to leave the bar.
Itās a common problem in Turkey with fake alcohol often resulting in horrible accidents and deaths. Thatās why all bottles sold in Turkey have a safety valve in its bottle neck.
But being served fake alcohol in a bar that claim to be high class, risking my sight and what not is simply not ok.
If you go there make sure you watch the bottle and taste before you down a shot. Alternatively, walk a few hundred meters towards the beach and find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a great time in Olu Deniz for ten days until visiting this bar. Went for a late Saturday dance with my family (non-alcoholic cocktails as we were travelling early): the waiter/ seemed like the manager, took Ā£20 too much from my wife and wouldnāt give it back. He became aggressive and physically PUSHED my wife twice while she was trying to deal with it nicely!! Thought because we were alone and no other tourists in the bar, that he could steal & be disrespectful to a woman - and then threw us out because there is ānothing you can do about itā. We walked away, but the experience spoiled what was otherwise a lovely holiday. Weāve been paragliding here on six holidays now and never been treated like this by anyone before. Terrible service in a place operated by a thief, disrespectful to women, atrocious attitude that itās ok to rip off visitors thinking theyāve had a drink and wonāt know or challenge it. Worth spending twice the amount on drinks to go somewhere like The Bamboo instead, where we felt welcome and all the staff are amazing! Please donāt spend your money at The VIP Dance Bar - theyāre sadly doing nothing but giving the good people of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe breakfast we had at this place last week was worst than disastrous. To begin with we had 5 different people arrive to take our order, the next person taking over and us having to start again each time. The two breakfast teas that were ordered were delivered as a fruit tea. I had to go to the market opposite with one of the staff to show him what an English breakfast tea bag was as he had no idea. My husband is Turkish so there was no language barrier involved either. After waiting a ridiculous length of time eventually the food started to arrive. The first two plates were food that we hadnāt ordered. Then the delight of the sausage and bacon roll arrived- Iāll let the photo speak for itself of that! Two full English arrived, one sausage was totally raw and cold in the middle and the second was inedible due to being bad and rotten. The smell alone was enough to put us all off eating. The staff were unable to deal with us so a random guy from a neighbouring restaurant arrived to come and apologise and tell us to leave without any charge. The entire experience was a shambles and I would highly recommend avoiding...
