Ortego's Deli — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

This raiting is mainly from the service I experienced earlier tonight. Just a few minutes ago i stepped out of Ortegos Deli Hamdan, haven't even ordered anything because the service didnt give me the chance to! Just a few tables to attend to and i was just a table for one. Had to turn a few times to catch the attention of the waiter who was too busy watching the tv while having a chat with another costumer and the other 3 waiters on the other side were too busy with what seemed to be like to having a briefing. I did not bother calling any of them because the restaurant wasnt even busy. they should be having their eyes on each and every guest. I observed for quite some time and waited for someone to attend to me as a guest. Upon realizing how much time i was waisting i stood up and walk of the restaurant. As i was to exit the restautarant, i passed by the three waiters having a "briefing", they just looked at me and i was also looking at them with dismay. Didnt even say thank u or goodbye or asked at all or even open the door for me. Its so upsetting to have just experience this in a restaurant with really good food and great service (at least at other branches). When your restaurant is not that busy, teach your service to pay extra attention to your costumers/guests, not to just relax and chill wait for the costumer to catch their attention....

Ortego’s Deli serves Asian cuisine with great dishes that suits everyone’s palate whether you love something spicy, tangy, grilled, or sizzling they have just great menu options. Here’s what we dug in this afternoon (and I bet you are all going to love the dishes we chose, too):

🌟Chicken Tower. This is an absolutely amazing choice good for 4 persons already including unlimited rice for only AED 49.

🌟Beef Sisig and Bangus Sisig. Both dishes are sooo sizzling good!

🌟Tagalog de Paella. Oh this one is a total “must-try”. I loved the huge mussels and the sizes of the shrimps that came with it, and that piece of drumstick added a yummy twist.

🌟Beef Tapa Combo Meal. If you’re in for a serious craving but doesn’t want to compromise budget, well, Ortego’s combo meals are sure wins! The beef tapa combo comes with sautéed veggies, noodles (bihon guisado) and rice. You can go for just food for AED 26 or go super with a soft drink for AED 30.

And let me tell you that the portions are great, and so are the flavours. I really recommend you go and check it out yourself. Don’t worry, it’s pocket-friendly and fab for the whole family...

So disappointed about the portion. I'm a loyal customer for the past few years. I always order milk fish soup worth 49 dirhams on talabat. For the first time I am surprised of what they gave me, just 2 very small pieces of fish belly not even enough for a single person eating for a dinner, they put more vegetables. I called the restaurant, they insisted that its their normal portions even before. They keep insisted and keep putting word in my mouth. They try to make me look stupid on how they talk to me. I got so mad I keep telling them that it's not the same as before. This is the first time I complained to them about the dish over the past few years. Then the supervisor who is very rude admit at the end that they cut down the portion because of the management decision that she cannot do anything about.
