I visited this outlet on a weekend afternoon for lunch with my family and was pleasantly surprised at the vast expanse. There are two floors of seating areas divided into smokin, non-smoking and family areas. Kids are welcome here and valet parking is available at the rear side.
Once seated, we were almost immediately served a complimentary welcome platter of freshly baked Arabic bread with Muhammara and Labneh. Very soon, our appetizers and mains made their appearance.
For appetizers we had Cold and Hot Mezze – Fattoush, Hummus, Mutabel, Muhammara Halapiya, Fried Kibbeh and Batata Harra. I loved each and every one of these, they were prepared to perfection and tasted delicious. My favourite from the starters was Muhammara Halapiya, an absolutely lipsmacking blend of walnuts and capsicum molasses. The Fried Kibbeh was crispy on the outside and the meat filling was tender and juicy. The Levantine salad, Fattoush, was pretty to look at and refreshing to delve into. Hummus and Mutabel were creamy and flavourful. Batata Harra (Spiced Potatoes) were cooked to perfection.
Mains were a plate of Mixed Grills and Majua. I was trying Majua for the first time and I found it to be really good. It’s basically meat stuffed with Halloumi cheese, mushrooms, various capsicums and pistachios. Dip in garlic paste and it becomes even more delicious. this was also served with French Fries, salad and grilled tomatoes, onions and pepper.
The Mixed Grill platter consisted of Meat skewers, Chicken skewers and Meat tikka served on a bed of grilled vegetables, salad, French fries and kubz. I found the meat to be tender and flavourful without that odd meaty taste which is sometimes found in other places. I was told that they use only Al Naimi Lamb which is known for its distinctive high-quality taste and it is grown in the UAE. Now I know why the meat here tastes fresh and amazing.
To end this scrumptious meal, we had Cheese Halawa,a dessert that has its origins in Syria. This delectable dessert is made from rolls of soft, sweet semolina and cheese dough that is stuffed with cream and topped with powdered pistachios. A drizzle of syrup flavored with rose water put the seal of perfection and I was in love with this simple looking Arabic dessert!! If you haven’t tried this, then you’re definitely missing out!! It’s so soft that it melts in your mouth and is perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness.
Followed this with a cup of hot lemon tea and we were good to go.
A huge shoutout and thanks to Mr. Ahmad Zaghloul and his whole team for their wonderful service and hospitality. The prices are reasonable, and service is quick. Cannot wait to be back again and try their other...

Our server, Hyder, provided impeccable service throughout the night. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave excellent recommendations. He suggested we start with the mezze platter, which was a feast in itself! Each dish was fresh and bursting with flavor, especially the hummus, mutabal, and tabbouleh. Hyder’s attentiveness and passion for the food made the experience feel extra special.
For our main course, we indulged in the mixed grill platter, and it was superb. The meats were perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. The lamb chops, in particular, were a highlight, and the flavors were deeply authentic. Hyder’s suggestion to pair it with their signature garlic sauce was a game-changer, adding a layer of flavor that elevated each bite.
The restaurant's ambiance, combined with Hyder's exceptional service, made our evening a memorable one. Al Mashawi Alhalabya is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Middle Eastern flavors. We will...

The dishes arrived warm and promptly, each mouthful a burst of flavor. Our mixed grill was a tantalizing array of meats, perfectly grilled kebabs accompanied by refreshing tabbouleh and the melt-in-your-mouth Arais marina. The hummus, smooth and creamy, was a perfect complement.
The next day, breakfast for three people was a feast of Middle Eastern delights. We enjoyed perfectly cooked eggs, with a choice of three tempting sides: earthy fava beans, creamy hummus, or the iconic Fatteh. The Lebanese/Syrian spread was a symphony of flavors - fresh cheeses, tangy sour cream, sweet jams, briny olives, fragrant halva, and warm, pillowy bread. As a special treat, we had maoune, a breakfast dish featuring curdled cream that danced on our palates. Refreshing guava polo and mango juices helped cool the heat of the spices, while a flavorful hookah session added an exotic touch to the experience.
From the delectable cuisine to the impeccable service, our experience was an unforgettable tapestry of sights, smells, and tastes. It was a true testament to the warmth and hospitality of the...
