Disappointing Experience at Said – Mall of the Emirates Branch

I’ve always enjoyed visiting Said, whether at the City Walk branch or during my time in London, where the quality has consistently been excellent. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Mall of the Emirates location fell far below expectations in both service and product quality.

I stopped by for a coffee and dessert, ordering a flat white and a slice of pistachio cake. The coffee was notably poor—bland, lacking any distinct flavor, and tasted more like burnt coffee beans water than a proper espresso/milk-based drink. We politely asked the waiter to replace it with a properly made flat white, given the reputation the café holds.

The pistachio cake that followed was extremely inedible.It was dry, stale, and clearly not fresh—likely several days old. Serving such a product at AED 52 is difficult to justify. Hoping to salvage the visit, I ordered churros, which were passable but unremarkable.

When we expressed our concern about the stale cake, the waiter took it to the kitchen—only to return with two small pieces of chocolate as an apology. It was evident the staff recognized the issue, yet instead of offering a replacement or removing the item from the bill, we were met with a token gesture that felt dismissive.

Overall, this experience was a stark contrast to the quality I’ve come to associate with Said. I won’t be returning to this branch and would recommend exploring other cafés in the mall that offer better...

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The experience at SAID DAL 1923 was absolutely delightful from start to finish.

The highlight for me was the strawberry cheesecake – hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The texture was rich and creamy, perfectly balanced with a slightly tangy strawberry flavor, and topped with fresh whipped cream and a juicy strawberry. It was insane good and definitely worth coming back for on its own.

Their coffee deserves a special mention too. Smooth, strong, and served with a perfect heart design on top – a small touch that makes the experience even more enjoyable. It paired beautifully with the desserts and left a warm finish.

We also tried the vanilla ice cream with crisp cookies on top, which was a refreshing balance of creamy sweetness and crunch. On the side, the strawberry sauce was bursting with fresh flavor, adding an extra layer to the desserts.

What really ties everything together here is the friendly and welcoming staff. Service was prompt, cheerful, and attentive without being intrusive, making the whole visit feel even more special.

Overall, this spot nails it in terms of food, drinks, and atmosphere. Definitely one of the best dessert and coffee experiences in Dubai Mall of the Emirates. Highly recommended for anyone with a sweet...
