The Real Italian Ice Cream Co — Restaurant in Bath

The customer service was not nice this time. I visited Bath in 2015 and found the best gelato in the city. Everyone was nice at that time.

However, I experienced bad service yesterday. I was so excited to go back and have that lovely gelato. My friend and I stepped into the ice cream parlour at night time and I ordered 2 scoop of ice cream after deciding what I wanted. I also chose ice cream cone but at that moment staff was making pissed off face. We also ordered waffle after receiving my ice cream and again the staff who served me was making her face weird.

I understand that it was nearly closing time but it doesn't mean that she had be rude that way. While we were eating inside, staffs were talking really loud and laughing continously. I felt uncomfortable because it felt like they were talking about us.

After finishing with waffle, I politely asked male staff where about the bin was so that I could throw away the waffle tray. He then replied saying 'its outside'. That surprised me because he could have offered to help me or replied nicely.

I myself work in customer service but I've never treated my customers that way. I understand serving customers isn't easy job. As a customer, I was patient and very polite towards the staffs but in return I recieved smaller portion of scooped ice cream and poor...

Worse experience I’ve ever had at an ice cream place!!! The man who served me was not clear in his communication at all. I asked him which flavours were vegan and he said lemon and strawberry. So I said I’ll have strawberry and he asked, regular or sorbet? I said regular but clarified, is it dairy free? He said yes! After eating this ice cream (I’m super intolerant to dairy by the way) I started feeling super nauseous and went back to the place and asked that same man if that ice cream had dairy in it. He said it did but denied telling me he had said it was dairy free. He didn’t apologise and didn’t give me my money back. All he did was give me a free bottle of water which I said wouldn’t help with the nausea which usually lasts 24 hours! Terrible service and I am very angry with the way this was dealt with. I am now having to go through my travel insurance to get a prescription for anti nausea pills in a foreign country that I am not familiar with, which will cost me money and time. I wouldn’t go here if you have any...

The ice cream is delicious but the service wasn't great. It's a small shop and we couldn't see a list of flavours so had to wait until the people in front moved out of the way (stood covering the glass case as they were). The moment they moved we were asked for our order and I felt quite rushed as the people behind us were wanting to move up. I repeated the order twice, using my hands to be very clear I wanted two ice creams, one of this flavour and one of that. She still tried to give me one with two scoops. This meant she'd smeared the second all over the first by the time she heard me saying no (by then almost shouting to correct the mistake).

She then scooped the first scoop out and back into the tray, including the large smear of the second flavour. She got a smaller cone and put the previous scoop in it so it was a mix of both flavours. Mine was fine but my partner's was mixed.

It just seems there are a lot of small things they could do to make it simpler...
