We recently had the pleasure of dining at Konak Leicester Turkish Cuisine to celebrate my sister's birthday May 12th. it was a delightful experience. We opted for the platters, and we were not disappointed. The starters were simply fantastic, providing an authentic taste of Turkish cuisine. The Turkish lamb and chicken shish and kofta kebab was the highlight of our meal, with excellent cuts of meat and grill that was cooked to perfection. The chops were also cooked medium rare with crispy clean juicy fat leaving us wanting more. The salads that accompanied our meal were beautifully adorned with sumac lemon and pickles, adding a burst of flavor to each bite. The attention to detail in the presentation was evident. What truly stood out during our visit was the welcoming and lovely staff. They went out of their way to make our birthday celebration special, even offering complimentary tea and baklava. The attentive service was truly appreciated. Thank you kubra and staff. Additionally, the restaurant was a haven from the hot weather outside. The air conditioning provided a cool and comfortable atmosphere, without any unpleasant grill heat or smells. Konak Leicester Turkish Cuisine consistently exceeds our expectations. From the delicious food to the excellent service and ambience, it was a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to indulge clean, fresh, satisfying authentic Turkish cuisine. We couldn’t take photos of all the food because we just dived into it straight away. Kids loved the chicken wings. Restaurant very friendly and welcoming for children. Staff made bday cake candle with fresh kunefe.

On my travels to Leicester I usually go up and down on London Road and noticed Konak a couple of times. And decided I will give this Turkish restaurant a go. I went to Konak on a weekday afternoon. Headed inside a friendly waiter (labelled him in a photo to this review) noticed and served me, I told I him was on my own and he took me to a table. Shortly afterwards he presented me with a menu in a booklet format. For starters I chose the Mixed Hot Meze, the drink a bottled Salgam and the main meal a Ribeye Steak (medium rare). It took some time for my order to come through, and I believe there is a reason for this. When it did come through the starter the Mixed Hot Meze (or how I like to call it now, the Mixed Hot Meme) was near to lukewarm and somewhat disappointing. The Sucuk Izgara was like near edible salty leather (not in a good way), the Halloumi was like eating a soft rubber, the Sigara Boregi just ok but the Falafel was the best out of the four! The price for the Mixed Hot Meze (£17.00) (Mixed ‘Hot’ Meme) is not worth it! In my opinion for what it’s worth it should have been priced about £10. I did not drink all of the Salgam as it was a very Hot day (it was very spicy), and I reckon that drink will go very well during the winter cold days as an alternative to tea and coffee. Onto the main dish, the Ribeye I believe was cooked from frozen. I reckon the chefs took it out of the freezer to thaw the meat. Which took the longest to come out, the middle part of the steak was ok but the edges were like chewing gum. (see photos of the chewed up ‘meat’ to this review) The white sauce that came with the steak tasted bland it had no taste in it. The only decent thing that came with the steak, was the chips. At this point I was not upset or disappointed with the steak, as I don’t usually eat steak on a regular basis. So I am not a Steak expert like Guga from Gugafoods (YouTube). After this I went to the cashier to pay for the disappointing food (labelled him as The Attitude problem guy, see photo to this review), I think he knew that the food in Konak is below par, and he most certainly saw me spitting out the chewing gum texture of the disappointing steak. He asked how was the food? I replied I am not a steak expert and I don’t feel that I can say if the steak was good or not. He retorted to me saying that you should not of ordered it medium rare (in a very rude way). I was like staring at him and thinking to myself I have not made a negative reply about the place yet!.......................apart from this review. After this I’ve read other reviews of Konak Leicester on Google maps thoroughly, and it turns out that there are reviews who have a negative experience with “dark browned skinned Indian guy” and I believe he is the same exact person, I’ve also had unpleasant experience with. (please read other reviews from Lilly Montrose, Tim King and AAA IXV) In my opinion I think there are better menu items with Konak, if there are people who are reading this review. I would suggest to stay away from all of their steaks. And lastly be very wary of The Attitude problem guy (the dark skinned indian guy with the silver framed glasses)

Wow, what a big disappointment. I’m not sure it’s just today or nowdays they are like this. Last year we visit here and food and staff was so nice and amazing so we decided to visit again today. It was busy as usual, we asked to seat right next to the door which was very loud and crowded that people behind who was waiting us to leave. Two lady staff was rude and nobody had a good attitude( constantly touching the chair, even tho we moved forward to not make them push my chair) the facial expression was bad, looked upset. The meat is much much smaller portion than before, last time it was more meat than rice but this time more rice and half size of meat. Lemonade, tiny tiny glass £3 , not worth it. I’ve ask for some more olives that we had 3 for the first time and they asked me for extra charge of £2.50 if i want more olives. However, the table next to us ordered exactly same food for 3 but they had two plates for source and olive so how this is fair? Last year I visit they asked me if I want anything and gave me for free. It just wow. We were eating and the staff was constantly looking with face that they wondering when we will go out. Which was very hard when the staff constantly looking with blank face, I couldn’t concentrate to eat properly and enjoy the food. I wanted for a dessert but I couldn’t 😅 Food was still good but last time was better. I think need to train the staff properly again, how they should do the customer service with some manner to say SORRY! For excuse me. I will not visit here again. Good food but not worth the stress.

Absolutely lovely place to eat. We went here a few days ago, and really enjoyed the whole experience. We booked in advance and it was good we did, as the place was quite busy. We ordered a few different items from the menu, including a mix platter to share, a Pide, and an iskender kebab. We did not like the iskender kebab, the tomato sauce and the youghurt was just not to our liking. However, everything else was absolutely to die for. Especially the lamb shawarma and the adana kebab. The pide was also amazing. Lovely flavour of the mince and the cheese all wrapped in the dough/base. The salad and the dips were also amazing. They have complimentary turkish tea after the food, and this was a lovely touch. We ordered some baklava and also a kunefe. Wow, the kunefe was pretty amazing. A good xheese pull, just the right amount of sweetness and crispness. Very very tasty. There is no dedicated parking, but parking in victoria park car park is good, as it is only a few minutes walk away. I would definitely reccommend this place.

Went by yesterday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the staff were super friendly and helped us every time we asked for help. The Halloumi Salad was particularly delicious and we had that come out first so did have a nibble along with the lovely breads - The food was lightly spiced and enjoyable. I’m more of a meat eater but the chicken wings were the most delicious on this occasion. The chips were lovely! Wish the asked us how the food was in the middle of dinner as no one came - we actually wanted more of our drinks but as we had water on the table didn’t want to make a scene. We did have to call for assistance but they were incredibly busy that evening. They managed to seat us within 20mins which we we’re grateful for. Would love to come again. Would be great if they had a larger option of drinks and mocktails seeing we we’re approaching festive season or for our celebrations. But all in all a pleasant experience.

Came with family, clean and lovely seating. Sadly food wasn’t as good as expected, we bought the Special Platter £72 and extra for chips and drinks the rice served with platter was ordinary white rice (basmati) and the bowl of chips were the end bits which I complained about and got changed, the staff were ok but not very attentive, dips were served but bread a small bowl took a while to come out to the table.. the cold Meze wasn’t up to Standard, Houmous was runny. The last thing was tea and complimentary Turkish delight which was nice but when I went to wash hands saw the box open near toilets which left me with a bad taste! Maybe Sunday wasn’t the best day to visit but overall for the price your paying I would of thought the food could of been a bit better, everyone has a different experience but if I leave a review I would like it to be truthful. I hope someone else’s experience is a little better then ours.
