Came here for dinner and unfortunately found the food to be average. We'd heard really good things about the architect, so it may be that we just had a one-off bad experience, but the food we felt wasn't up to the hype. I went for the piri piri chicken burger. The chicken was cooked nicely but had zero piri piri flavour. At least I couldn't taste it at all. It also had the smallest amount of garlic mayo, which I just couldn't taste. The coleslaw was nice and very creamy. I put it on the burger, and unfortunately, due to no piri piri flavour coming though, it turned the burger into a creamy burger, which wasn't too pleasant. The fries were OK, but nothing special. My wife went for the ragu pasta. I tasted it too, and both of us felt there was too much sauce. More pasta was needed. The sauce was so acidic that it wasn't pleasant at all. We had a side of onion rings and have to say these were delicious. Definitely recommend them. Overall, with tip, we paid £60, which we felt was overpriced for what we got. The staff were very friendly and quite attentive, although we did need to wait quite a while at the start to get drinks, which was a little frustrating. I actually went looking for the staff to get the drinks ordered. The venue is lovely, really enjoyed being there. We may try again on the basis that we just made poor decisions, but given the number of places to eat in Chester, we aren't sure we'd go back.

What a gem to find on the outer edge of Chester centre. Overlooking Chester racecourse with its own small car park. I think it is Georgian style with its own special history. An interesting and very welcoming place which is more restaurant and table service than bog standard pub grub. They have a great garden and terrace area with a vintage tractor - November is not the best time to visit garden areas. We left our dog in the car but only later found out that they are totally dog friendly - even to snappy handbag dogs. Superb quality food which was served speedily and efficiently by friendly staff. The only problem here is that the staff were very slow in responding to customer requests or even taking their initial meal order. We were massively impressed by a selection of approximately 8 ales as well as at least another 10 lagers and ciders. We rarely visit places a second time because they usually manage to disappoint - we will be there visiting Chester in December and intend to give them a second visit. Look out for edits and updates 🦄

Great food, drinks and variety of choice. The rooms are spaciously laid out with the option of a private dining room if required. The decor is homely and traditional (Brunningham Price standard decor). The staff are friendly and attentive. This place is well located with a car park. For Chester this is a real bonus! There’s free Wi-fi and a great outdoor space for all year round seating. Has to be one of my favourite places to eat. The voucher scheme is a great idea too. One free per main meal purchased. Six are redeemable against a meal to the value of £12 which can be used Monday to Friday. Update: Lots of places to eat at outside. An outside bar and lots of covered seating. They now have a parking eye in the carpark where you have to log your car reg on the iPad in the entrance to avoid getting a fine.

Amazing pub experience with scenic views of Chester Racecourse

Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Architect Pub in Chester, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. Situated overlooking the Chester Racecourse, the pub boasts breathtaking views that perfectly complemented the fantastic dining and drink options.

The food at The Architect Pub is truly exceptional. Every dish I tried was prepared with great care and attention to detail. From delectable appetizers to mouthwatering main courses, their menu offers a delightful range of options that cater to various tastes. The flavors were rich, the presentation was impeccable, and the portions were generous.

The selection of beer and wine available at The Architect Pub is commendable. Whether you're a beer aficionado or a wine lover, you'll find a wide array of options to satisfy your palate. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to offer recommendations based on your preferences, ensuring you find the perfect drink to complement your meal.

The staff's attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall charm of the place. They were attentive without being intrusive, providing exceptional service throughout my visit.

The highlight of my experience, however, was undoubtedly the stunning view of the Chester Racecourse. The panoramic scenery created a delightful ambiance, making the dining experience even more memorable.

Overall, I highly recommend The Architect Pub to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience in Chester. With its delightful food, extensive drink selection, and picturesque views, it truly stands out as an exceptional...

What a polava. There were two veggie options available on the menu, and out of 11 of us, 4 of us veggies ordered the tortellini for £15 each. What stingy portions. Three of us got 5 pieces of pasta, and one got 4. One of the group even ordered another starter as soon as he saw his dish knowing it wouldn't be enough. After the meal I tried to very politely give some feedback to one of the staff members, but the conversation was interrupted by a "supervisor" who insisted I should have said something when she came round to ask if everything was alright, which was before I'd even started eating. She insisted she came around a second time, which none of the group recall. But I gave the feedback (politely, until this confrontational person came along), so what's the problem? I wasn't asking for compensation, refund, free food, or anything like that. I just wanted to pass on my feedback, as I also work in an industry where constructive customer feedback is important. The "supervisor" just seemed in the mood for a row. It seemed somebody behind the scenes appreciated my concerns, as all four meals were quietly deducted from the bill, but the whole argument situation with the "supervisor" left me feeling very unhappy after what should have been a nice...
