Things are looking up! Given the drama of the i360 over the last year and the council debt issue leaving a lingering taste in localās mouths it is nice to see Drift emerge from the depths. If my assumption is correct that this venue is also run by the iās owners, then all is likely in good hands. At a tough time for hospitality generally and in the midst of closures as well as openings in the vicinity (Guesthouse, Meeting Placeā¦), Drift holds itās own. I didnāt eat on my recent (first) visit but had a crisp rose or two at a highish but competitive price, and found the service friendly and the atmosphere relaxed and appealing. If the owners keep standards high and donāt take anything for granted then Drift will become a welcome staple. The location speaks volumes and on a sunny day...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday, my friend and I visited Drift, and unfortunately, a full pint was accidentally spilled all over my trousers and shirt. The manager came over straight away, helped me, and apologised, which I really appreciated. I wasnāt upset with the waitress at allāin fact, I told her it was okay.
That said, I was surprised that nothing was offered to make up for the situation. Iām not usually someone who complains, but it feels disappointing that we werenāt given even a small gesture, such as a discount on the bill or a complimentary round. Instead, I was simply handed some blue roll, and that was the end of it.
Iād just suggest that in future, it might be worth considering the customer experience a little more in situations like this, rather than focusing solely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the great pleasure of visiting Drift Bar & Kitchen in Brighton a couple of weeks ago. Perfectly situated next to the iconic i360, Drift Bar is a fantastic spot to unwind, eat, and drink while enjoying the unique Brighton atmosphere.
I went for the beer-battered fish and chips, which were excellent. Paired with a couple of pints of Aspall cider, it made for a Brighton classic seaside meal. The beer and wine selection is solid, and the menu offers a good variety of choices to suit different tastes.
All in all, it was a great way to spend time in Brighton. And of course, no visit is complete without the obligatory ride on the i360āan absolute joy, no matter the time of day.
Great location great gig. Try it you...
